A process for the selective dimerization and etherification of isoolefins. The process including feeding a mixed C5 stream to a selective hydrogenation unit to convert dienes to olefins and isoolefins, producing a hydrogenated effluent stream. The hydrogenated effluent stream is fed to a first fixed bed reactor, producing a first reactor effluent. The first reactor effluent is fed to a catalytic distillation reactor system, producing a first overheads including unreacted olefins, isoolefins, oxygenate, and one or more C5 ethers and a first bottoms including dimers of the isoolefins, any produced trimers of the isoolefins, and heavy oxygenates. The first overheads is fed to a second fixed bed reactor, producing a second reactor effluent including dimers of the isoolefins, unreacted C5s, and unreacted oxygenates. The first bottoms stream and the second reactor effluent are combined and fed to a product splitter, producing a second overheads stream including unreacted C5 olefins, isoolefins, and oxygenates and a second bottoms stream including C10+ hydrocarbons.

Dimerization and trimerization of C5 olefins via catalytic distillation

Systems and processes for the efficient conversion of high concentration isoolefin streams to tertiary alkyl ethers are disclosed. The systems and processes may include a feed system to advantageously divide the high concentration isoolefin feed to multiple fixed bed reactors and a catalytic distillation reactor to control the reaction exotherm and achieve a high isoolefin conversion.

Etherification of high concentration C5 ISO-olefins via catalytic distillation

Systems and methods for the production of a high purity isoamylene product. The isoamylene in a mixed hydrocarbon stream may initially be converted to TAME via etherification, and a subsequent decomposition of the TAME may result in a high purity isoamylene stream with very low impurities that is suitable for a variety of petrochemical applications, such as for use in the production of fragrances, pesticides, peroxides, polymer antioxidants, UV stabilizers and hydrocarbon resins.

High purity isoamylene production from tertiary amyl methyl ether decomposition

A bed and frame assembly includes a box that is positionable on a horizontal support surface. A pair of tracks is each of the tracks is removably disposed on the box. A lid is slidably disposed on the box for supporting a mattress. The lid is positionable in a first position to close the box or a second position to facilitate sheets on the mattress to be changed. A plurality of roller units is each disposed on the lid and rollably engages a respective one of the tracks to facilitate the lid to be rolled between the first position and the second position. A sliding unit is integrated into the box and the sliding unit is in mechanical communication with the lid. The sliding unit is actuatable in a closing condition for sliding the lid into the first position and the sliding unit is actuatable in an opening condition for sliding the lid into the second position.

Bed and frame assembly

The selective dimerization of isoolefins, such as isobutene or isopentane, or mixtures thereof, may be conducted in a system including a series of fixed bed reactors and a catalytic distillation reactor. The system may provide for conveyance of the fixed bed reactor effluents, without componential separation, to a downstream reactor. It has been found that a high selectivity to the dimer may be achieved even though intermediate separation of the desired product from unreacted components between reactors is not performed. Further, embodiments provide for use of a divided wall column for recovery of a high purity dimer product, reducing unit piece count and plot size.

Process for the controlled oligomerization of butenes

A process for supplying deaerated water to a chemical plant that includes a distillation column for separating a reaction effluent comprising water and a product. The process includes inventorying the distillation column with aerated water (water having an oxygen content of greater than 50 ppbw, such as greater than 1 ppmw). The aerated water in the distillation column may then be distilled to produce an oxygen-containing overheads and a bottoms fraction comprising deaerated water. The deaerated water in the bottoms fraction ma be transported to an upstream or a downstream unit operation, and utilizing the deaerated water in the upstream or downstream unit operation. The reaction effluent is fed to the distillation column, transitioning the distillation column from separating oxygen from water to operations for separating the product from the water.

Oxygen stripping in etherification, ethers decomposition and isooctene production

Systems and processes disclosed may be used to produce a high purity isobutane stream and a high purity 1-butene stream from mixed C4 streams having disparate starting compositions.

Co-production of high purity isobutane and butene-1 from mixed C4s

A mobile support system for supporting a concrete pouring hose supports ten to sixteen feet of hose while providing sufficient ground clearance to avoid common obstacles. The mobile support system features large castors and conveniently placed hand holds to permit the mobile support system to be moved safely and easily. The system provides for socketed leg attachment, thereby allowing for ease of disassembly and storage.

System for manipulating concrete spreading hoses

An apparatus for insertion into a well to displace well fluid. A flexible hose is lowered into an annulus between strings of casing. A nozzle is affixed to the lower end of the hose. During insertion, the hose is pressurized and rigid to keep the hose from winding about the well. To keep the hose rigid, internal pressure is maintained in the hose. The nozzle is provided with a check valve that holds the internal pressure up to a selected amount. Once the hose is lowered to a desired depth, the operator increases the pressure sufficiently in the hose to open the check valve, thereby allowing heavy liquid to flow out. The heavy liquid displaces the lighter well production, which flows out of the outlet. After the heavy fluid has been dispensed, the internal pressure is reduced, causing the check valve to close. The check valve can also be opened during insertion, if desired.
