A computer-implemented method includes receiving, by an application, a request to copy application data of the application, where the application data includes sensitive data generated by the application. The application identifies each instance of the sensitive data in the application data. The application generates a clean copy of the application data, where generating the clean copy includes removing each instance of the sensitive data from the application data. The clean copy is returned responsive to the request to copy the application data.

A method, system and computer-usable medium are disclosed for performing a network traffic combination operation. With the network traffic combination operation, a plurality of input queues are defined by an operating system for an adapter based upon workload type (e.g., as determined by a transport layer). Additionally, the operating system defines each input queue to match a virtual memory architecture of the transport layer (e.g., one input queue is defined as 31 bit and other input queue is defined as 64 bit). When data is received off the wire as inbound data from a physical NIC, the network adapter associates the inbound data with the appropriate memory type. Thus, data copies are eliminated and memory consumption and associated storage management operations are reduced for the smaller bit architecture communications while allowing the operating system to continue executing in a larger bit architecture configuration.

The disclosed communication system may employ a first protocol for communication over a network connection. The communication system may use subnet information or prefix information to determine if the network connection qualifies for using a second protocol. Methods, systems, and computer program products for migrating configuration data from an existing program to a replacement program, in response, for example, to a command by an external agent. In preferred embodiments, an existing program is modified according to the invention to add functionality to obtain pertinent configuration data from such sources available to the existing program as its internal tables, configuration files, and run-time commands, and then to write a configuration file containing configuration data formatted for use by the replacement program. The program's internal tables may often contain configuration data which is not always available to the replacement program e.g. command line parameters, data provided through receipt of messages from other programs, etc. The invention advantageously makes voluminous formatted configuration data available to the replacement program in order to expeditiously provide a basis for its initial operation after installation.

Efficient configuration data migration technique

A method and apparatus for selective routing of a multi-recipient communication from an origin domain to a destination domain within a communications network. An exit routing station added to the origin domain receives a datagram including content data intended for multi-recipient delivery in the destination domain. The exit routing station modifies the datagram for routing to the destination domain, and transmits it to the entry routing station. This enables delivery to the destination domain by other than multi-recipient techniques. An entry routing station added to the destination domain modifies the datagram for multi-recipient delivery in the destination domain and initiates multi-recipient delivery. The destination domain's entry routing station may modify the datagram with information specific to the destination domain and unknown to the origin domain. Accordingly, no revisions to software applications employing multi-recipient technology is required, and destination domains otherwise unreachable by traditional multi-recipient techniques may be reached.
