Systems and methods include an optical switch system which provides a combination of μLED arrays, PDs, imaging fiber cables, and crosspoint switch on a single chip. The system includes one or more input ports with each input port configured to connect to an input fiber bundle. The system additionally includes one or more output ports with each output port configured to connect to an output fiber cable, wherein each of the input fiber bundle and the output fiber cable include a plurality of fiber cores. An electrical crosspoint switch is connected to the one or more input ports and the one or more output ports, wherein the electrical crosspoint switch is configured to connect a given input port to a corresponding output port, including all signals in the input fiber cable to the corresponding output fiber cable.

A method of power management of one or more line modules in a network device includes obtaining a power rating of a line module of the one or more line modules; determining, based on the power rating, one or more of a current threshold and a shutdown voltage for the line module; and providing the current threshold and the shutdown voltage to the line module for storage thereon, wherein the line module is configured to monitor the current threshold and the shutdown voltage and operate based thereon.

A method for power management that includes: determining, by a network device, a maximum current rating of a first power distribution unit (PDU) driven by a first direct current (DC) power plant including multiple backup batteries; determining multiple power ratings for multiple line modules in the network device, where the multiple line modules are connected to a first feed from the first PDU and a second feed from a second PDU; calculating, by the network device, a maximum aggregate current for the multiple line modules based on the multiple power ratings and a shutdown voltage corresponding to the multiple backup batteries; and allocating, in response to the maximum aggregate current exceeding the maximum current rating, a first current threshold to a first line module and a second current threshold to a second line module.

The present disclosure provides a multi-carrier optical transmitter, receiver, transceiver, and associated methods utilizing offset quadrature amplitude modulation thereby achieving significant increases in spectral efficiency, with negligible sensitivity penalties. In an exemplary embodiment, an optical transmitter includes circuitry configured to generate a plurality of optical subcarriers, a plurality of data signals for each of the plurality of subcarriers, and a plurality of modulator circuits for each of the plurality of subcarriers, wherein each of the plurality of modulator circuits includes circuitry configured to offset an in-phase component from a quadrature component of one of the plurality data signals by one-half baud period.

The present disclosure provides a polarization multiplexed transceiver, including: a transmitter; a receiver; circuitry within the transmitter configured to insert pilot tones as a reference state of polarization for a polarization multiplexed signal; and circuitry within the receiver configured to de-multiplex the polarization multiplexed signal using the pilot tones. The transmitted signal is constructed in such a manner as to facilitate the division of the receiver processing between the analog and digital domains such that the implementation may be simultaneously both highly spectrally efficient and power efficient.

Optical transceivers for use in fiber optic communication networks

A system and method for canceling interference over a group of signals. One or more wires in a group of wires are designated to carry one or more reference signals. The one or more reference signals are used to cancel interference from the data carrying signals in the group of signals. Preferably, the one or more reference signals are subtracted from the data carrying signals to cancel interference from the data carrying signals. Analog or digital elements can be used to subtract the one or more reference signals from the data carrying signals. For example, an operation amplifier or a DSP may be used to perform the subtraction. Filters may be used to further adapt the one or more reference signals prior to the subtracting step to optimize interference cancellation. The filters may be either digital or analog.

Method and apparatus to cancel interference over a group of signals

The present invention provides methods and systems for a flyback converter arranged with synchronous rectifier MOSFETS in such a manner that they operate with a common source potential while still providing for the use of a stacked output winding. With a common source potential, a single rectifier control voltage can be used to operate the rectifiers for multiple outputs greatly simplifying the control circuit. Advantageously, the present invention maintains the inherent simplicity of the flyback design while enabling designs with well-regulated multiple voltage outputs and the efficiency benefits of synchronous rectification.
