A visual perception device is described. The visual perception device has corrective optics for viewing virtual and real-world content. An insert for the corrective optics is attached using a magnetic set, pins and/or a nose piece. Interchangeable nose pieces allow for height adjustments to accommodate different users. The visual perception device has pliable components to absorb forces exerted on a nose piece and a protective barrier for limiting electric shock or ingress of dirt.

A head mounted device padding system includes a pad having an interior side and an exterior side. The interior side of the pad has a substantially concave first curvature about a first axis of the pad, and a substantially convex second curvature about a second axis of the pad.

Head mounted audio-visual display system

A virtual or augmented reality headset is provided having a frame, a pair of virtual or augmented reality eyepieces, and an interpupillary distance adjustment mechanism. The frame includes opposing arm members and a bridge positioned intermediate the opposing arm members. The adjustment mechanism is coupled to the virtual or augmented reality eyepieces and operable to simultaneously move the eyepieces to adjust the interpupillary distance of the eyepieces.
