A method of molding a personal care product, a manifold, and a cosmetic product molding apparatus are provided. In one embodiment, the method of molding a personal care product comprises: moving a material through a temperature controlled manifold, opening one or more injection valves between the temperature controlled manifold and one or more mold cavities, injecting the material at a controlled pressure into the one or mold cavities in a closed position to form one or more articles, closing the one or more injection valves between the temperature controlled manifold and one or more mold cavities after injecting the material into the one or more mold cavities, opening the one or more mold cavities, and removing the one or more articles from the one or more mold cavities.

Methods are provided for manufacturing an antiperspirant or deodorant product within a container, the product having an application surface that includes first and second portions having different compositions. The methods generally include (a) delivering to an open end of the container, through a first delivery nozzle, a first composition that will form the first portion, and, through a separate second delivery nozzle, a second composition that will form the second portion, the first and second compositions being in molten form during delivery, (b) providing a barrier between the first and second compositions to prevent intermingling thereof, (c) allowing the first and second compositions to solidify to form the product; and (d) removing the barrier.

A product for application to the skin includes a container and a composition within the container including a cosmetic or therapeutic active ingredient. Sometime after first use, the application surface of the composition changes from a first visual appearance to a second visual appearance due to a change in the composition.

The present invention is directed to a composition comprising an antiperspirant salt suspended in a carrier vehicle thickened with a silicone latex. The composition typically comprises about 50 to 90% carrier vehicle, which is advantageously substantially comprised of a volatile silicone, about 3 to 30% antiperspirant salt, which is typically an aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum-zirconium chlorohydrate, and about 3-25% silicone latex. Preferably the composition will contain an auxiliary thickening agent such as a fumed silica, hydrated silica or trihydroxystearin, typically in an amount of 0.01 to 10%. The composition will preferably have a viscosity of about 12,000 to 20,000,000 cP. The present invention also embraces an apparatus for delivering the above-described composition when formulated with a medium viscosity of about 12,000 to 50,000 cP, said apparatus having a porous dome with a porosity of about 150 .mu.m to 400 .mu.m through which the composition is delivered.
