A plug for closing an opening in a partition between rocket motor chambers is made in segments and will resist a relatively high pressure differential between the chambers in one direction but will unblock the opening in response to a relatively low pressure differential between the chambers in the other direction.

Pressure resistant member

An energy absorbing body comprising glass spheres embedded in elastomer, preferably with a metal reinforcing skeleton, for example aluminium honeycomb extrusion.

Energy absorber

A solid propellant rocket motor is provided with a liner between the motor case and the propellant, the liner comprising a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and a nonconjugated diene and inert fillers. Ablative fillers such as heavy metal halides, calcium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide may be included.
