Source entities with initially predefined properties for service modeling are presented in a library for user selection as service modeling entities. An automated computer process expediter copies user selected ones of the source entities from the library into a computer readable storage medium providing a services layer. The copying generates instances in the services layer of the selected service modeling source entities, such that the services layer instances at least initially include the initially predefined properties of their respective source entities. The automated computer process expediter maintains the properties of the selected ones of the source entities, including maintaining the selected source entities' properties independently of changes made in a first change mode to the properties of the service modeling entity instances, which are in the services layer, so that the user may change the properties of the layer service modeling instances.

Building information technology services from a library of elements

A plurality of heap dump requests associated with an operating virtual machine (VM) program is received from a VM profiler interface module at a heap dump request processing module. In response to receipt of each heap dump request at the heap dump request processing module, a dynamic modifiable library identified within a dynamic modifiable configuration file is loaded into a memory, where the dynamic modifiable library comprises instructions associated with processing a current heap dump request. The instructions associated with processing the current heap dump request are executed. The dynamic modifiable library is unloaded from the memory. A plurality of heap dump files and a plurality of object movement event files generated by execution of the instructions are analyzed. A memory leak associated with the operating VM program is automatically identified based upon the analyzed plurality of heap dump files and the plurality of object movement event files.

Method and system for analyzing memory leaks occurring in java virtual machine data storage heaps

An invention is disclosed for analyzing memory leaks occurring in Java Virtual Machine (JVM) data storage, consisting of a dynamically modifiable JVM 'profiler' and an 'object tracker' tool for analyzing the output from the profiler. Specifically, a method and system is disclosed for programming a JVM profiler used to analyze and correct memory leaks in stored data heaps, consisting of a program segment (or &#x201c;stub&#x201d;) initialized by the JVM application program interface to determine the parameters to be passed to the main profiler memory leak analysis program logic, which is then initialized by the stub to examine a minimal number of &#x201c;heap dumps&#x201d; in order to identify data elements or objects for the existence and/or correction of memory leaks. Updated information on data elements or objects can be requested from the profiler as needed by use of the object movement tracking option to record the details of subsequent changes in data memory storage status once a heap dump has been obtained.

A method is disclosed for forming an antenna and a radio frequency transponder. The method comprises the steps of (1) forming a paste comprising metal powder, polymeric material, and solvent; and (2) screening the paste through a screen onto a substrate. Additional steps couple electrical components to the paste and dry the paste.

The present invention provides an RF tag having an antenna that can be selectively tuned to achieve optimal performance. The RF tag comprises an RF transponder integrated circuit and an antenna connected to the RF transponder integrated circuit. The antenna includes components such as tuning stubs and loading bars that are physically alterable to selectively vary the performance characteristics of the antenna. The tuning stub and loading bar may each further comprising a variably selectable length having elements that may be removed by punching, cutting, etching, laser trimming or other process. The antenna may further comprise a leadframe or a flexible substrate.

The present invention is directed to an ultra-thin outline package for integrated circuits that is much smaller than conventional chip packaging structures. The ultra-thin outline package is particularly useful in fabricating RF or RFID transponders. In an embodiment of the invention, the ultra-thin outline package includes a substrate having an aperture. At least one conductive trace that includes upper and lower portions is disposed on respective upper and lower surfaces of the substrate. The substrate further comprises at least one via electrically connecting the conductive trace portions together. An integrated circuit is disposed in the aperture and is operatively coupled to the upper portion of the conductive trace. An encapsulant is provided in the aperture substantially covering the integrated circuit. The lower portion of the conductive trace is adapted for coupling of the ultra-thin outline package to a secondary substrate using conventional surface mounting techniques. The via connecting the upper and lower trace portions may be disposed either on at least one edge surface of the aperture or on at least one edge surface of the substrate. At least one wire bond electrically couples the integrated circuit to the conductive trace, and the encapsulant covers the integrated circuit and the wire bond. Using printed circuit board material for the substrate, the ultra-thin outline package achieves a vertical profile of approximately 0.3 to 0.375 mm (12 to 15 mils).

An improved radio frequency transponder has a reflector to increase its operative range. A system of one or more reflectors is operatively associated with a transponder and may be formed out of any sort of radio frequency reflective material. The reflector system can enhance reception or transmission of radio waves by or from the transponder. The reflector system may also be used to provide for selective coupling of the radio frequency transponder with a base station, user- or vehicle-supported reader, or the like based on relative orientation. In addition, the reflector system may be used to selectively reflect particular radio waves.

A radio frequency (RF) transponder (RF tag) is proposed, where a high dielectric constant material is used in operative cooperation with a tag antenna so that the distance of the tag antenna from conducting or absorbing surfaces may be reduced, and so the tag dimensions may be reduced.

An RF transponder is provided with a miniature resonant antenna that can fit on a small form factor the size of a button or coin. More particularly, the RF transponder comprises a substrate and an RF integrated circuit disposed thereon. An antenna is provided on the substrate and is electrically connected to the RF integrated circuit. The antenna has a contorted shape that permits it to fit into the limited available space on the substrate, while having an electrical length that is greater than a maximum length dimension of the substrate. Possible shapes for the antenna may include a meander antenna, a non-uniform meander antenna, a bent dipole antenna, a spiral antenna, a z-shaped dipole, a squeezed dipole antenna, or a combination of any of the antenna types. The RF transponder may further include at least one loading bar spaced from the antenna and/or at least one tuning stub coupled to the antenna.

A radio frequency transponder is provided which comprises a substrate layer, a radio frequency integrated circuit affixed to said substrate layer; and an antenna provided on said substrate layer in electrical connection with said radio frequency integrated circuit. The antenna is comprised of a conductive paste material having a resistivity of approximately 20 &mgr;&OHgr;-cm., which is greater than the resistivity of a conventional etched copper antenna, but still sufficiently low to provide a radio frequency transponder having acceptable read range. The substrate layer further comprises a flexible organic material. The radio frequency integrated circuit is disposed in a flip-chip configuration facing downward toward said substrate layer, with electrical contacts aligned with the antenna.
