A computer readable storage medium having a computer program stored thereon and representing a set of instructions that when executed by a computer causes the computer to calculate a mapping function that provides a location of each sub-volume of an imaging volume as a function of time from ultrasound data and determine a respective acquisition window for each sub-volume of the imaging volume from the mapping function. The instructions also cause the computer to reconstruct an image of the imaging volume substantially free of motion artifacts from imaging data acquired from the imaging volume.

Apparatus and method for reconstructing an image with reduced motion artifacts

Motion data is acquired simultaneously and in real-time with image data. The motion data provides accurate and near-instant information as to the state and position of an object prone to motion. The present invention is particularly applicable for cardiac CT or MR imaging and other physiologically gated acquisitions. In the context of cardiac imaging, the motion data includes information regarding size and location of the heart during the cardiac phases (diastole, systole, etc.) during each cardiac cycle.

Method and apparatus to compensate imaging data with simultaneously acquired motion data

A system and method for improving the image quality of an X-ray image of a patient in a dual energy X-ray imaging system is provided. The system includes a heart cycle monitor, and X-ray emitter and an X-ray detector. A patient is positioned between the X-ray emitter and the X-ray detector. The heart cycle monitor monitors the cardiac cycle of the patient to detect a cardiac trigger. Once the cardiac trigger has been detected, the X-ray emitter emits high energy and low energy X-rays through the patient and the X-ray detector detects the emissions and forms images. The X-ray detector then performs a number of scrubs. Then the X-ray emitter acquires at least one offset image. The offset and the X-ray images are then combined to form X-ray images that may then be employed for dual energy X-ray processing.

System and method for synchronization of the acquisition of images with the cardiac cycle for dual energy imaging

Two independently articulated arms supporting an x-ray tube and x-ray detector, respectively, are mounted offset to the patient and controlled to simulate a wide variety of conventional x-ray positioners. The arms are at least partially defined by a plurality of links that are connected at joints having independent axes of motion. The number of links, and corresponding degrees of freedom for the arms may be predetermined based on the end user application for the positioner.

Scaleable x-ray positioner

An integrated x-ray imaging detector assembly is provided for use in an x-ray imaging system. An x-ray detector module is supported by a frame and receives a beam of x-rays emitted from an x-ray source and passed through a target along a detector axis. The x-ray detector is further operable to produce electrical signals in response to the received beam of x-rays. A display terminal is supported by the frame and disposed behind the detector module with respect to the direction of x-ray beam travel. The display terminal is configured to receive the electrical signals and produce an output image corresponding to the electrical signals.

X-ray positioner having integrated display

An x-ray imaging system is presenting having two independently articulated arms supporting an x-ray tube and x-ray detector, respectively. The detector is included in a detector assembly that further includes a display and user interface for controlling the arms. The detector assembly further includes at least one lead shield that is extendable to protect an operator stationed at the display during use.
