An autonomous system includes a vehicle operable to travel from a first point to a second point, a first actuator operable to adjust a speed of the vehicle, and a second actuator operable to adjust a direction of travel of the vehicle. A controller is operable to send control signals to the first actuator and the second actuator to facilitate the transition of the system from a first state to a second state during travel between the first point and the second point. A reachability controller is coupled to the controller to receive the first state and the control signals and to analyze the first state and the control signals to determine if the second state is a safe state.

A control device, linear drive, production- or packaging machine, computer program product and method for controlling movement of at least one rotor in the linear drive, wherein a user or a machine station specifies the movement pattern to the control device to specify the movement, where the specified movement pattern is associated with virtual axes, particularly via the computer program product, the movement pattern is advantageously automatically associated with virtual axes subsequently associated with real axes, a control unit, i.e., a converter, controls movement of the rotor on the segment of the linear drive and the control unit supplies at least one segment with electrical voltage or current, where the segments as part of the linear drive therefore move the rotors in accordance with the specifications of the movement pattern, where such an association occurs automatically, and the user is relieved of this task during specification of the movement pattern.

Method for controlling a movement, a control device, a linear drive, a production machine, a packaging machine and a computer program product

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for planning and scheduling of manufacturing using a receding horizon planning approach that enables the manufacture of multiple products in a flexible and efficient manner. A receding horizon planning engine is provided that receives input data indicative of various manufacturing parameters associated with the manufacture of various products and utilizes the input data to solve an optimization problem with respect to a cost function to generate a receding horizon execution plan indicative of a set of planned manufacturing steps to be executed. Some subset of the planned manufacturing steps (which may include all planned steps) may then be executed. Upon completion of execution of the subset of planned manufacturing steps or upon the occurrence of a trigger event, the optimization problem may be re-solved to obtain a new receding horizon execution plan for a subsequent set of planned manufacturing steps.

Flexible product manufacturing planning

A first active part of a poly-phase electric machine is connected to a converter having a control facility. The control facility updates a base commutation angle using the target speed value and determines direct-axis and quadrature-axis component values of currents and a commutation angle supplied to the machine. Target and component quadrature-axis values are provided to a quadrature-axis portion of a current controller that determines a target value of the quadrature-axis voltage component. Target and component current values are supplied to a direct-axis portion of the current controller, which determines a target value of the direct-axis voltage component therefrom. The target value of the direct-axis and quadrature-axis voltage components and the commutation angle are used to determine the target output voltages provided to the converter. A damping commutation angle determined using target values of the quadrature-axis and direct axis voltage components is used to adjust the of the voltage.
