Methods and apparatus that enable drying and curing a plurality of specimens carried by a plurality of microscope slides. Slide carriers are positioned at a first position while the slide carrier holds the microscope slides. Each of the specimens can be carried by one of the microscope slides. The slide carrier can be robotically moved to move the slide carrier into a circulation loop defined by a heater apparatus. The specimens and/or microscope slides can be convectively heated while the slide carrier is located in the circulation loop.

Automated processing systems and methods of thermally processing microscope slides

A system is capable of detecting substrates and can differentiate between zero, one, or multiple transparent or semi-transparent substrates in a stack. The system can include an optical sensor, an optically anti-reflective element, and a detector. The optical sensor outputs light towards the optically anti-reflective element. The light detector is positioned to detect light from the light source that is reflected by substrates, if any, positioned within a detection zone between the optically anti-reflective element and the detector.

Methods and apparatuses for detecting microscope slide coverslips

An apparatus and method for selecting and dispensing coverglasses over specimens on slides for the purpose of viewing specimens through a microscope. The selecting device contains suctioning mechanisms for picking up a coverglass from a stack of coverglasses. It also contains the ability to shape the coverglass to assist in separating and laying down of the coverglasses with a reduction in the creation of bubbles in the fluid.

Automated coverslipper and methods of use

A ground-cleaning apparatus for separating debris from soil according to the invention includes a paddle assembly, a separation bin, and a hydraulic assembly, each mounted on a chassis having a front frame and a rear frame. The paddle assembly is rotatably supported on the front frame and includes paddles for agitating the ground surface and carrying soil and debris to the separation bin. The separation bin is supported on the rear frame and includes a sifting screen partially surrounded by sidewalls and a rear wall. The hydraulic assembly includes a selectively actuated piston and cylinder assembly for reciprocating the separation bin. Paddles agitate the ground surface and deposits the soil and debris on the separation bin, where the debris is trapped by the sifting screen and the soil passes through the sifting screen as the separation bin is reciprocated by the piston and cylinder assembly.

Hydraulic ground-cleaning apparatus

A winch and rail assembly support structure is adapted to mount to a front of a vehicle. A winch is supported by the winch and rail assembly support structure. A rail assembly is configured to removably connect to the winch and rail assembly support structure. The rail assembly comprises two opposing elongated rails, each elongated rail comprising two opposing tracks, and a pulley supported at a distal end of the rails. A fork assembly comprises an elongated fork support arm configured to span between the rails, a pair of forks configured to connect to the fork support arm, and a plurality of roller wheels connected to the elongated fork support arm. A first pair of the roller wheels is configured to ride within the two opposing tracks of a first one of the rails, and a second pair of the roller wheels is configured to ride within the two opposing tracks of a second one of the rails. A flexible elongated member is configured to extend from the winch, over the pulley, and from the pulley to the fork support arm. The fork support arm is configured to connect to the flexible elongated member. When the winch is operated in a first direction, the flexible elongated member pulls the fork assembly upward along the rails, and when the winch is operated in a second direction, the fork assembly is lowered along the rails.
