A document reproduction system includes an optical scanning device configured to output an electronic representation of a document comprising both machine printed and non-machine printed elements; and a computing device in communication with the optical scanning device. The computing device is configured to distinguish between the machine printed and non-machine printed elements in the electronic representation of the document. The computing device is configured to selectively print or store only the machine or non-machine printed elements based on user input. A method of document reproduction includes scanning a document having both printed and non-printed content to produce an electronic image; and automatically distinguishing between the printed and non-printed elements in the electronic image of the document.

A method of removing inserted text from a digital image includes recognizing the inserted text in the digital image using optical character recognition; and replacing pixels of the digital image corresponding to the inserted text so as to remove the inserted text from the digital image. A method for cloning hand drawn images includes identifying, within an environment, a position of a wand with respect to each of a first plurality of user selected physical points. A virtual plane identified by the first plurality of points is defined. The virtual plane corresponds to a first marking surface. An electronic page is associated with the first virtual plane. A motion of the wand is tracked. The motion corresponds to a use of the wand to draw a first mark on the first marking surface. A path traced across the first virtual plane is identified. The path is defined by the tracked motion. The electronic page is updated to include a digital image representative of the path. The digital image is a clone of the mark.

A method of projecting an image on a physical substrate using a virtual image and a virtual plane includes generating a virtual two dimensional plane and locating a position and orientation of a wand with respect to the virtual plane. The method further includes creating a virtual image on the virtual plane with the wand. An image can be projected on the physical substrate. The projected image corresponds to the virtual image created on the virtual plane. An associated image projection system includes a virtual two dimensional plane. A wand is configured to create a virtual image on the virtual two dimensional plane. The image projection system also has a physical substrate configured to receive a projected image. The projected image corresponds to the virtual image generated using the wand and the virtual two dimensional plane.

A system for monitoring equipment includes at least one sensor generating a detection field; an electronic equipment tag associated with a piece of secured equipment; an electronic personnel tag identifying a person; and a server, in communication with the at least one sensor, for matching detection in the detection field of the equipment tag with detection in the detection field of a personnel tag and determining whether a person identified by the detected personnel tag is authorized to use equipment corresponding to the detected equipment tag. A method of monitoring equipment includes detecting a electronic equipment tag associated with a piece of secured equipment in a detection field; detecting a personnel tag identifying a person in the detection field; and determining if the person identified by the detected personnel tag is authorized to use equipment corresponding to the detected equipment tag.

Systems and method for monitoring equipment

A method for printing images. A plurality of proof sheets having a thumbnail representation of at least some of the images, and at least one user-markable field indicative of at least one corresponding image when marked are printed. User-marked ones of the proof sheets are optically scanned to detect marked ones of the at least one user-markable field. The marked fields are processed to determine at least one selected image associated with each scanned proof sheet. At least one selected image is printed after the user-marked proof sheets have been scanned.
