A fixture configuration module comprises a connector configured to be removably coupled with a light fixture. The fixture configuration module also comprises fixture control circuitry communicatively coupled to the connector and configured to control the light fixture to produce light in accordance with a range of a lighting parameter. The range includes at least a subset of values supported by the light fixture for producing light. The fixture configuration module further comprises range control circuitry communicatively coupled to the fixture control circuitry and configured to wirelessly receive the range at least while the connector is uncoupled from the light fixture, and designate the range to the fixture control circuitry while the connector is coupled to the light fixture.

Light fixture control

A fixture configuration module comprises fixture control circuitry and range control circuitry. The fixture control circuitry is configured to control a light fixture to produce light in accordance with a range of a lighting parameter. The range identifies at least a subset of values of the lighting parameter supported by the light fixture to produce light. The range control circuitry is communicatively coupled to the fixture control circuitry and comprises a mechanical switch. The range control circuitry is configured to designate the range to the fixture control circuitry in response to the mechanical switch being positioned into at least one of a plurality of switch positions into which the mechanical switch is positionable.

A modular lighting system includes a number of LEDs, a communication module, a driver module, an auxiliary module, and a communication bus. The communication module includes a first port. The driver module includes a second port, rectifying circuitry, and conversion circuitry. The driver module drives the LEDs at the second port in response to information received at the second port. The rectifying circuitry and conversion circuitry convert an AC input signal into a DC power signal that is provided at the second port. The auxiliary module has a third port. The communication module, the driver module, and the auxiliary module are associated with the communication bus such that the driver module supplies DC power over the communication bus and the communication bus provides bi-directional communication.

Master/slave arrangement for lighting fixture modules

Power receptacle control circuitry includes load switching circuitry, communications circuitry, sensor circuitry, processing circuitry, and a memory. The sensor circuitry includes a light sensor. The processing circuitry is coupled to the load switching circuitry, the communications circuitry, the sensor circuitry, and the memory. The memory includes instructions, which, when executed by the processing circuitry cause the power receptacle control circuitry to selectively deliver power to a load via the load switching circuitry, detect a modulated light signal via the light sensor, and join a group of devices based on the modulated light signal.

Power receptacle control circuitry

The present disclosure relates to a modular lighting system that may include a driver module, an array of LEDs that are driven by the driver module, and a control module. The control module is configured to control the driver module, which in turn drives the LEDs of the array of LEDs in a desired fashion. The control module may communicate with one or more remote lighting control systems through wired or wireless communications and function to control the driver module accordingly. Notably, the driver module and the control module communicate with each other through a standard communication protocol, such that either of the driver module or the control module can be replaced without replacing the other of the driver module or control module. Further, power may be provided to the control module and the array of LEDs by the driver module via the standard communication interface or separate power interface.

Modular lighting control

An LED-based lighting fixture sets or adjusts a parameter of a drive signal that is used to drive its LEDs to be more compatible with the camera system; the camera system sets or adjusts an image capture parameter to be more compatible with the LED-based lighting fixture, or a combination thereof. The drive signal may be a PWM signal with a variable PWM frequency and/or duty cycle, a variable DC signal, or any combination thereof. The parameter of the drive signal that may be set or adjusted includes, but is not limited to, a PWM period, PWM frequency, PWM duty cycle, amplitude of the active and inactive portions of the PWM signal, and the like. The image capture parameter that may be adjusted includes, but is not limited to, frame rate, frame period, integration time, gain, shutter type (i.e. rolling shutter, global shutter, etc.), and the like.

A fixture configuration module comprises range control circuitry and fixture control circuitry. The range control circuitry is configured to store a range of a lighting parameter. The range identifies at least a subset of values of the lighting parameter supported by the light fixture to produce light. The fixture control circuitry is communicatively coupled to the range control circuitry and is configured to control the light fixture to produce the light in accordance with the range stored by the range control circuitry.

The present disclosure relates to a device including relay circuitry and light sensor circuitry. The relay circuitry is configured to selectively deliver alternating current (AC) power to a load. The light sensor circuitry is configured to detect one or more modulated light signals, wherein the device is configured to join a group including a plurality of devices based at least in part on the one or more modulated light signals.

A lighting apparatus includes a string of serially-connected light emitting devices and a bypass circuit coupled to first and second nodes of the string and configured to variably conduct a bypass current around at least one of the light-emitting devices responsive to a temperature and/or a total current in the string. In some embodiments, the bypass circuit includes a variable resistance circuit coupled to the first and second nodes of the string and configured to variably conduct the bypass current around the at least one of the light-emitting devices responsive to a control voltage applied to a control node and a compensation circuit coupled to the control node and configured to vary the control voltage responsive to a temperature and/or total string current.

Solid state lighting apparatus with compensation bypass circuits and methods of operation thereof

The present disclosure relates to a modular lighting system that may include a driver module, an array of LEDs that are driven by the driver module, and one or more auxiliary modules. The auxiliary modules are configured to control the driver module, which in turn drives the LEDs of the array of LEDs in a desired fashion. The auxiliary module may provide a bridge for communications with one or more remote lighting control systems through wired or wireless communications and function to control the driver module accordingly. Other exemplary auxiliary modules may include modules that function to control the driver module based on one or more of ambient light, ambient temperature, room occupancy, emergency lighting requirements, and the like.

The present disclosure relates to a lighting fixture that includes a driver module and at least one other module that provides a lighting fixture function, such as a sensor function, lighting network communication function, gateway function, and the like. The driver module communicates with the other modules in a master/slave scheme over a communication bus. The driver module is configured as a slave communication device, and the other modules are configured as master communication devices. As such, the other modules may initiate communications with the driver to send information to or retrieve information from the driver module.

In a first embodiment, a lighting fixture is configured as a power over Ethernet (PoE) powered device (PD), which is capable of facilitating Ethernet-based communications with and receiving power from a PoE device, such as a PoE switch, over a single cable. In a second embodiment, a lighting fixture is configured as a PoE power source equipment (PSE) device, which is capable of facilitating Ethernet-based communications with and supplying power to one or more control elements.

A lighting device includes multiple solid state emitter (e.g., LED) chips of different colors mounted on a single submount, at least one temperature sensing element arranged to sense temperature of the LED chips, and at least one temperature compensation circuit element mounted on the single submount to maintain output emissions at a substantially constant color point over a range of different temperatures. Such a device may include a blue LED arranged to stimulate a yellow lumiphor and a red LED, arranged in combination to yield warm white light. Multiple separately temperature compensated clusters of solid state emitters may be provided in a single lighting device, which may include an elongated body structure.
