Systems and methods for generating a channel sequence for display via an abbreviated on-screen guide are disclosed herein. Channel tuning commands are entered via a user interface of a computing device. Channel tuning data, which describes channel transitions caused by the channel tuning commands, is stored in a buffer. Based on the channel tuning data, a channel family comprising a plurality of channels is generated. A determination is made as to whether a currently tuned channel is included in the channel family. In response to determining that the currently tuned channel is included in the channel family, an on-screen guide, which comprises an abbreviated channel listing of the plurality of channels of the channel family, is generated for display.

Adaptive on-screen guide based on channel or content transition commands

The system and methods described herein provide content recommendations to user equipment timed to reduce interruption of content. A content recommendation application detects output of first content and determines viewing metrics for the first content. Using the determined viewing metrics, the content recommendation application determines whether output of a content recommendation should be blocked. In response to determining that the viewing metrics indicate output of the content recommendation should be blocked, the content recommendation application blocks the content recommendation. Upon receiving an input changing output of the first content to output of a second content, the content recommendation application unblocks and outputs the content recommendation.

Systems and methods for optimizing delivery of content recommendations

Systems and methods are described for displaying a guide for media content available on a user device. An illustrative method includes retrieving media content guide data for a plurality of channels, identifying a first media content item that is not available for retrieval from a content source, in response to identifying the first media content item, identifying a second media content item that is related to the first media content item and is available for retrieval from the content source, retrieving, from the content source, the second media content item, and generating for display a media content guide interface for the plurality of channels, wherein an identifier of the second media content item is displayed in a timeslot for the first media content item.

Personalized media guide for offline media devices

Systems and methods are described for matching a corrupted database record with a record of a validated database. The system receives a corrupted record from a first database. The corrupted record is vectorized to create an input data vector. A denoised data vector is generated by applying a denoising autoencoder to the input data vector, where the denoising autoencoder is specific to the first database. The system compares the denoised data vector with each of a plurality of validated data vectors generated based on records of the validated database to determine that a first denoised data vector matches a matching vector. In response, the system trains the denoising autoencoder using a data pair that includes the input data vector and the matching vector. The system also outputs the validated record that was used to generate the first matching vector.

Systems and methods for generating a content item sequence for display via an abbreviated on-screen guide are disclosed herein. Content selection commands are entered via a user interface of a computing device. Transition data, which describes content item playback transitions caused by the content selection commands, is stored in a buffer. Based on the transition data, a content family, which comprises a plurality of content items, is generated. A determination is made as to whether a content item currently being played back is included in the content family. In response to determining that the currently played-back content item is included in the content family, an on-screen guide, which comprises an abbreviated content item listing of the plurality of content items of the content family, is generated for display.

A media backend server deployed within an IPTV system and operated by a hosting operator enables tiered reselling of IPTV services to a hosted operator. The media backend server receives a web service call for a plurality of media content from a branch server operated by the hosted operator. The media backend server proxies the web service call to a head end server to retrieve media metadata for at least a portion of the media content. In addition, the media backend server provides filtered media metadata corresponding to media content purchased by the hosted operator from the hosting operator to the branch server.

A manner of enhancing QoS when facilitating remote access to a home network. An HA in the home network is provided with QoS parameters, for example when registering with an SG (signaling gateway), which parameters include a bandwidth allocation for communications via a network. These parameters may be dictated, for example, but an OSS/BSS associated with the network. The HA then determines the bandwidth requirement for each application request it receives, and compares it with the bandwidth allocation of the QoS parameters. Execution of applications that do not exceed the bandwidth allocation is permitted, while execution of others are rejected, at least until agreement to proceed at a lower bandwidth is obtained or currently executing applications are re-prioritized. The bandwidth allocation may be adjusted while applications are executing so that available bandwidth may be used to determine how to respond to future application requests.

Method and apparatus for enhancing QoS during home network remote access

A manner of extending a home network to a remote TMA service. A TMA in the TMA service acquires and stores a UID (unique identifier) and a MS-UID (monitoring service UID), than registers with an SG (signaling gateway) and is then redirected to an MA-SG (monitoring application SG). The MA-SG may be dedicated to the TMA service or may host communications for more than one service. When an HA that subscribes to the monitoring service registers, it is also redirected to the MA-SG, and a secure tunnel is established between the TMA and the HA and maintained by heartbeat messages. The secure tunnel may be redirected to an MA-PS (monitoring application proxy server) depending on the bandwidth consumed in the monitoring process and traffic conditions.
