A method of optimizing the electrical stimulation of a bladder of a patient including selecting a first subset of electrodes from a set of electrodes positioned adjacent to a set of nerves associated with the bladder. The set of electrodes may include one or more electrodes, each of which may be configured to deliver electrical stimulation pulses generated by a stimulator device to the nerves. The method may further include delivering an electrical stimulation pulse through the selected first subset of electrodes and recording at least one parameter of the electrical stimulation pulse after receiving patient feedback.

Apparatus for treating pelvic floor disorders and related methods of use

A system for facilitating placement of a lead in or on a patient's heart includes a first lead apparatus, a second lead apparatus, a user interface, and a processor. The processor is configured to measure a distance parameter indicative of a distance between a reference sensor element at a right heart location and a lead apparatus sensor element at each of a plurality of left heart locations in either the left ventricle or a coronary venous pathway, determine a separation distance for each of the plurality of left heart locations from the right heart location based on the distance parameter measurements, and determine that the separation distance for a location of the plurality of left heart locations from the right heart location is less than a threshold distance based on the separation distance for the location. The threshold distance representative of unsuitability for pacing.

Cardiac lead placement using multiple spatially distributed sensors

Systems and methods facilitate placement of a lead in or on a patient's heart. At least one reference sensor is positioned at a right heart location of a patient's heart and a cardiac lead apparatus comprising at least one lead apparatus sensor is advanced to a plurality of left heart locations. Using the reference sensor and the lead apparatus sensor, a distance parameter indicative of a distance between the reference and lead apparatus sensors is measured for each of the plurality of left heart locations. Strain or stress estimates are determined for the plurality of left heart locations derived from the distance parameter measurements. Using the strain or stress estimates, a physician perceivable output is produced indicating suitability of the left heart locations as pacing sites.

Systems and methods for selection of electrodes and related pacing configuration parameters used to pace a heart chamber are described. A change in the hemodynamic state of a patient is detected. Responsive to the detected change, a distribution of an electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical parameter related to contractile function of a heart chamber with respect to locations of multiple electrodes disposed within the heart chamber is determined. A pacing output configuration, including one or more electrodes of the multiple electrodes, is selected and the heart chamber is paced using the selected pacing output configuration.

Selection of pacing sites to enhance cardiac performance

A method and apparatus is described for detecting and localizing areas of myocardial infarction or ischemia. By pacing sites in proximity to the infarcted or ischemic region with appropriately timed pacing pulses, the region is pre-excited in a manner that lessens the mechanical stress to which it is subjected, thus reducing the metabolic demand of the region and the stimulus for remodeling.

Method and apparatus for identification of ischemic/infarcted regions and therapy optimization

Systems and methods involve determination of CRT parameters using a number of CRT optimization processes. Each CRT optimization process attempts to return recommended parameters. The CRT parameters are determined based on the recommended parameters returned by one or more of the CRT optimization processes. The CRT optimization processes may be sequentially implemented and the CRT parameters may be determined based on the recommended parameters returned by a first CRT optimization process to return recommended parameters. The CRT parameters may be determined based on a combination of the recommended parameters returned. The CRT optimization processes implemented may be selected from available CRT optimization processes based on patient conditions.
