An tonneau cover for a pickup truck having a tapered bed construction is provided by the present invention. The tonneau cover includes a driver side rail for mounting to a driver sidewall of a pickup truck bed; a passenger side rail for mounting to passenger sidewall of pickup truck bed; and a rigid panel for slideably mounted along the driver side rail and the passenger side rail, and having a tapered construction which allows the rigid panel to fit between and adjacent a driver sidewall and a passenger sidewall of a pickup truck bed having a tapered bed construction.

A system for covering the box and bed of a pick-up truck includes a tarp, a pair of side rails, an end rail and a cam latch associated with each side rail. The tarp includes beads associated with its edges. These beads cooperate with slots in the rails to fix the edges of the tarp to the rails. The cam latches are provided to interact with the end rail to stretch the tarp and help secure it in place over the bed and box of the pick-up truck.

An apparatus for covering an area between opposed walls is provided by the present invention. The apparatus includes rails for mounting on the opposed walls, and a covering material for covering the area between the opposed walls. The rails include ridges and channels which allow for adjustment of the tautness of the covering material between the opposed walls. The covering material includes a fabric for suspension between the opposed walls and has edges which include ridges and channels. The ridges and channels in the rails and the ridges and channels in the covering material are constructed and arranged to mate in order to provide a releasable connection.
