A waterproof extrusion laminated flexible membrane that may be seamlessly applied to an irregularity on a substrate supporting a finished surface for waterproofing that includes first and second polypropylene non-woven layers each having first and second surfaces, a water impermeable HDPE oriented cross laminated film layer, a first tie layer between the first non-woven first surface and the cross laminated film layer, and a second tie layer between the second non-woven first surface and the cross laminated film layer. A waterproof membrane includes first and second non-woven layers each having first and second surfaces. A cross laminated film layer is disposed between the first and second non-woven layers. Tie layers are applied between the non-woven layers and the cross laminated film layer. A method of making a waterproof membrane, a method of establishing a waterproof barrier between a substrate and a tile, and a flexible membrane for use in a curvilinear surface are also disclosed.

A method for making a film/board laminate for use in pilfer resistant packaging includes providing a non-treated paperboard substrate, adhering a single ply of an oriented film to the substrate, the oriented film being applied at an orientation angle to the board between but not equal to zero degrees and 180 degrees such that a film to substrate adhesion is about 0.5 pli to 1.4 pli, and applying a heat seal layer to the film.

Anchoring systems and methods utilizing acrylate compositions

In a railroad track comprising a railroad rail having a lower flange and a railroad tie made from concrete, a polyurethane pad is mounted between the lower flange of the rail road rail and an upper surface of the railroad tie. A bonding layer at least as flexible as the polyurethane pad is bonded to a lower surface of the polyurethane pad. An adhesive layer is bonded to the upper surface of the railroad tie. The bonding and adhesive layers are bonded to each other, whereby the polyurethane pad and the railroad tie are bonded to each other via the bonding and adhesive layers. Preferably, the adhesive layer comprises a methacrylate ester composition, and the bonding layer comprises either a product of polymerizing a solution of methyl methacrylate copolymer in n-butyl acrylate monomer with an addition of cumene hydroperoxide to the solution or a product of curing or drying a water-based acrylic emulsion. Alternatively, the bonding layer is a product of polymerizing a solution of a thermoplastic elastomer in methyl methacrylate monomer. The solution may have an addition of 1% (by volume) of cumene hydroperoxide to catalyze polymerization. The solution may have a sprayed coat of a dispersion of benzoyl peroxide in a plasticizer or in water to catalyze polymerization.

A roll riser for use such as in staggering paper rolls during shipment generally includes first and second deck sheets each having inner and outer sides, a fold line along the edge of the core and a fold line along its midpoint, and are connected together by an open-celled core. The roll riser is collapsible along the fold lines for shipment to the user or for storage so as to occupy a relatively small amount of space and then expanded by the user for use. In a first embodiment, pressure sensitive tape is secured to the inner sides of the sheets and when the roll riser is in an expanded configuration, the tape adheres to the core. In a second embodiment, pressure sensitive tape is secured to the outer side of the first sheet and when the roll riser is in an expanded configuration, the tape is adhered to the outer sides of the first and second sheets. In each embodiment, the tape causes the roll riser to remain in the expanded configuration so as to prevent the roll riser from collapsing.
