A flight management system includes a communications system configured to receive weather data from a remote source, a display system configured to generate an output for a flight display of an aircraft, and at least one processor with a non-transitory processor-readable medium storing processor-executable code. The output includes weather information based on the received weather data. The processor-executable code causes the processor to receive a user input from a user interface element of the aircraft where the user input requests updated weather information. The processor-executable code causes the processor to retrieve, via the communications system and in response to the user input, updated weather data from the remote source; calculate a departure or arrival performance flight parameter based at least in part on the updated weather data; and provide, via the display system, an output for the flight display of the aircraft where the output includes the flight parameter.

A system and related method provide an ability at a local level to develop and modify an aircraft lighting configuration. Local maintenance may modify and replace a lighting configuration file associated with an aircraft lighting control defining default values and preset intensities for interior, exterior, cabin, and cargo bay lighting. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) offers a maintenance technician and a crewmember efficient flight deck control of each zone and field enabling efficient user control of each aspect of aircraft lighting.

A system and method for activation of chart data via touchscreen enables a pilot to touch a system generated hotspot within the flight chart displayed on the touchscreen and thereby affecting a change in an aircraft system. The system overlays a hotspot over chart data within the flight chart and associates the hotspot and hotspot data with the chart data. Upon reception of a pilot command of selection of the hotspot, the system verifies the pilot command and interfaces with the aircraft systems to make the change in frequency, navigation, and path of the aircraft.
