A golf putter head having a visual alignment aid includes a face member and a back body both of which may be selected from a plurality of differently configured face members and back bodies. The face member has a front surface, a top ledge, a rear surface, and a visual alignment aid comprising a rear edge parallel to the front surface. The rear edge is defined by the intersection of the rear surface and the top ledge. The back body comprises a flange portion that extends rearwardly and has an upper surface that is displaced below the top ledge. The face member and back body are selected from materials having contrasting colors so that the rear edge of the face member is contrasted against the background of the back body.

A customizable golf putter head includes a face member and a back body both of which may be selected from a plurality of differently configured face members and back bodies. The face member has a cavity formed in its rear surface, and the back body has a mating section that is positioned within the cavity of the face member so that a parting line between the face member and the back body is concealed below a top ledge of the face member when the putter head is assembled. A hosel selected from a plurality of differently configured hosels is mounted on the face member, and an elastomeric membrane is positioned within the cavity of the face member so as to be interposed between the face member and the back body.

A customizable golf putter head includes a face member and a back body both of which may be selected from a plurality of differently configured face members and back bodies. The face member has a cavity formed in its rear surface and the back body has a mating section that is positioned within the cavity of the face member. A face insert is formed on the mating section of the back body and extends through an opening formed between heel and toe ends of the face member. A membrane positioned between the face member and the back body also has an opening through which the face insert extends.

A golf putter includes a head having a face arranged for impacting a golf ball, a hosel having a lower end connected to the head, and a shaft connected to an upper end of the hosel. The hosel includes a leg portion extending upwardly from the head, and at least one vibration absorbing insert is disposed in a hole formed in the hosel leg portion. The vibration absorbing insert is preferably formed of polyurethane. The head may be formed of heavyweight material such as stainless steel, and the hosel may be formed of lightweight material such as titanium.

A golf putter head includes a low density insert disposed in a cavity formed in a body. The insert has a front face arranged for impacting a golf ball, and the body has a heel end portion, a toe end portion, a bottom portion and a back portion which define a generally horseshoe shaped mass that partially surrounds the insert. The heel end portion of the body includes a boss projecting therefrom toward the body toe end portion, and a bore located in the boss receives a lower end of a shaft. The insert is preferably formed of polyurethane with a Shore D hardness of 65. The volume of the insert is greater than the volume of the body while the weight of the insert is less than the weight of the body.
