An example modular cable management device for a media patching system is provided. The device includes a body defining a top surface, a bottom surface opposing the top surface, a front side, and a rear side opposing the front side. The device includes an opening formed in the body at the bottom surface and extending into the body. The opening includes features for engagement with a fastener for detachable coupling of the body to the media patching system. The device includes extensions protruding from the front side of the body. The extensions define one or more spaces therebetween for receipt of cables associated with the media patching system.

The present disclosure provides improved media patching systems, and related methods of use. The present disclosure provides improved systems/methods for the design and use of patching systems configured to support multiple media connections (e.g., high density media connections). More particularly, the present disclosure provides advantageous systems/methods for the design and use of media patching systems that include improved features and structures (e.g., camming door; stackable cable manager members; tool-less mounting attachments; cable/fiber retention grommets; pivotable cable management arms; removable panel members; sliding label fields). Moreover, exemplary media patching systems disclosed herein advantageously provide improved access to the media connectors and/or cabling elements.

Advantageous fiber optic connector assemblies (e.g., fiber cassette or adapter modules) are provided for use in communication systems, and improved methods for using the fiber optic connector assemblies are also provided. More particularly, improved systems/methods for the design and use of media patching systems having connector assemblies that include a slide lock member are provided. The connector assemblies are easily secured and/or unsecured to or from a media system (e.g., to or from a panel member of a media system). In exemplary embodiments, improved systems and methods are provided for easily securing and/or unsecuring fiber optic connector assemblies to or from a panel member or the like by utilizing advantageous connector assemblies that include a slide lock member, and related assemblies.

A cable management assembly is provided that facilitates routing of cables from a rack, frame or cabinet. The cable management assembly may be mounted in a vertical or a horizontal orientation, and generally includes a flange, a pair of fingers extending outwardly relative to the flange and defining a routing region therebetween, at least one mounting element extending rearwardly relative to the flange; and a polygonal locking face mounted with respect to the at least one mounting element. The cable management assembly may be mounted with respect to a rack structure by introducing the polygonal locking face to a correspondingly shaped aperture and rotating the cable management assembly, e.g., by a quarter turn.

Cable management assemblies and associated methods

An integrated insulation displacement terminal includes an IDC assembly with a pair of pivotably mounted wings and a lacing cap assembly with a lacing cap, locking cam nut and deflectable contact ring. The IDC assembly has two rows of IDC terminals mounted on one side and the lacing cap assembly has a lacing cap with two corresponding rows of receiving holes. Each wing pivoted to the IDC base assembly has two pressing portions corresponding to the two rows of IDC terminals so when the wings are rotated to press the lacing cap such that each of the IDC terminals is inserted into one of the receiving holes and each wire is introduced in the corresponding IDC terminal. Each wing has an axial cable guide engaged by the cam nut when the assembly is locked by rotating the cam nut to secure the two assemblies in place and ground the cable.

An electrical connector has a plurality of insulation displacement connectors (IDCs) grouped together by an injection-molded, plastic bridge. The bridge integrates the IDCs permitting easier handling and assembly with other electrical elements, such as by inserting projections from the IDCs into vias of a printed circuit board. The bridge results in a strengthened IDC group structure and facilitates interaction with an assembly tool, thereby allowing smaller IDCs and diminishing cross-talk. The IDC group may be utilized with a mating IDC cover having resilient members which resiliently supports and shields the IDCs and an attached circuit. The IDC groups may be utilized in fabricating a connector, such as a CAT 6 connector.

Connector assemblies, combinations and methods for use in wiring/cabling applications are disclosed. Connector assemblies include openings that facilitate interaction between plugs and cables, particularly foil-shielded twisted pair (FTP) cables. Connector assembly sub-components and connector sub-assemblies are also disclosed. Connector assemblies and sub-assemblies include securely joined sub-components. Sub-components are secured to one another through the use of deflectable latching members of one sub-component engaging corresponding latching slots of another sub-component. Sub-components and sub-assemblies are secured to one another through the use of a cam nut engaged into a slot of a sub-component. Connector assemblies, combinations and methods including a cylindrical contact capable of engaging an FTP cable, drain wire and metal foil or sheath through the application of a cam nut are also disclosed.

Sub-components are coupled to one another through the use of deflectable latching members of one sub-component engaging corresponding latching slots of another sub-component. Sub-components and sub-assemblies are also coupled to one another through the use of a cam nut engaged into a cam slot of another sub-component or sub-assembly. Connector assemblies, combinations and methods including a contact capable of engaging an FTP cable, drain wire and metal foil or sheath through the application of a cam nut interaction with a cam member are also disclosed.
