A method for forming an abrasive article via an additive manufacturing technique including forming a layer of powder material comprising a precursor bond material and abrasive particles, compacting at least a portion of the layer to form a compacted layer, binding at least a portion of the compacted layer, and repeating the steps of forming, compacting, and binding to form a green body abrasive article.

Abrasive articles and methods for forming same

An example plasterboard includes a layer of hardened plaster material having a first surface and an opposed second surface and a layer of molded material having a surface that faces away from the layer of hardened plaster material. The surface of the layer of molded material has one or more raised features. The plasterboard also includes a liner between the first surface of the layer of hardened plaster material and the layer of molded material. Other examples include a method of forming such plasterboards and a method for installing such plasterboards.

Plasterboards and methods for making them

The present disclosure relates generally to building surface joint supports, for example, suitable for covering a seam between two building surface panels. In certain aspects, the disclosure provides joint supports that include an elongate layered structure having inside and outside surfaces, the elongate layered structure including a support strip that includes first and second elongate flanges. In certain embodiments, the elongate layered structure also includes an inner facing sheet disposed on the inside surface of the support strip; and an outer facing sheet disposed on the outside surface of the support strip, wherein the each of the inner facing sheet and the outer facing sheet is formed from a fibrous polymer material. In other embodiments, each flange of the first and second elongate flanges includes apertures therethrough, each aperture having a width that extends laterally across at least 50% of the width of the respective flange; and the elongate layer structure also includes an outer facing sheet disposed on the outside surface of the support strip.

An example plasterboard includes a layer of hardened plaster having a first surface and an opposed second surface, a layer of polymer material having particles of one or more cementitiously-active substances mixed therein, and a liner between the first surface of the layer of hardened plaster and the layer of polymer material. Another example is a method of forming such a plasterboard. The method includes loading an extruder with the polymer material having the particles of one or more cementitiously active substances mixed therein, extruding the polymer material through a die to form the layer of polymer material on a surface of the liner, contacting with a layer of wet plaster material, the liner having the polymer material applied thereon such that the surface of the liner faces away from the wet plaster material, and drying the layer of wet plaster material to form the layer of hardened plaster.

This disclosure relates to using polyester films on building boards to enable improved surface coatings. The polyester film is preferably applied to a glass mat via an adhesive to form a laminate. This laminate is then bonded to the exterior surface of a gypsum board. The polyester film is advantageous because it allows for exterior surface coatings to be applied. In one embodiment, an exterior acrylic coating is applied to the polyester film. Boards constructed in accordance with this disclosure allow for exterior finishings to be achieved without the need for excessive finishing materials or steps.

The present disclosure relates generally to building materials, such as building boards, having improved strength and reduced shrinkage. More particularly, the present disclosure provides building compositions comprising Struvite-K (KMgPO.6HO), Syngenite (KCa(SO).HO), and one or more silicate additives suitable for use in building materials.

A building board, particularly a gypsum board, can have a high fastener sealability if protected by the combination of thin layers of an extruded polymer film and a thermoplastic coating layer. The combination of extruded polymer film and thermoplastic coating layer is designed such that the gypsum board can also tolerate overdriven fasteners, thus exceeding the requirements of ASTM D1970-15.

A building board including a cementitious layer between two fiber mats. At least one fiber mat forms with a polymer film a fiber mat/polymer film laminate. The cementitious layer of the building board contains a reactive water-insoluble polymer which improves binding of the fiber mat/polymer film laminate to the cementitious layer. The building board has a low water absorption and a high level surface finish.

A building assembly can include a substrate and a water barrier coating film. The water barrier coating film can include a thermoplastic polymer and microporous particles, such as microporous glass beads. The water barrier coating film can provide a good protection towards liquid water but may allow water vapor flow from the substrate through the coating film. The water vapor permeability of the water barrier coating film can be at least 2 US perms as tested according to ASTM E96 (2014) at 21&#xb0; C. and 50% average relative humidity.

A bonded abrasive grinding wheel is provided with a bonded abrasive disc including abrasive grain disposed within a bond matrix, and a mounting plate integrally fastened to the disc. In various embodiments, the mounting plate has a plurality of non-metallic first threaded fastener portions disposed in a predetermined pattern therein, and is fabricated from a composition including a polymeric material. The non-metallic first threaded fastener portions are each configured for respective engagement with a plurality of second threaded fastener portions disposed along a face plate of a grinding machine.

Granular molding materials for fabricating abrasive articles, such as, for example, grinding wheels, are produced by mixing heated abrasive grains with a resin blend including two phenol-novolac resins. Preferably, the resin blend is added to the abrasive grains in the mixer apparatus of the invention, which can be a bowl type mixer. The mixer can be preheated by directing a heated gas, such as air, across the mixer. The granular molding material can also include a curing agent, fillers and other materials generally employed in fabricating abrasive articles.
