Various embodiments provide a so-called smart gallery that is designed to create a short summary view of a collection of content, such as photographs and video. The content can be prioritized and presented in a smart gallery user interface that includes gallery elements that can be sized in accordance with prioritized content. Prioritization can take place based on whether content is manually captured or automatically captured. Alternately or additionally, prioritization can take place based on content analysis that looks at content quality and/or objects that appear in the content.

A system and method is provided for the control of a network of devices wherein each device of the networked devices provides for the operation of a sensor such as an accelerometer, processor and communication element within each device, and network and/or cloud based processing and storage, to process collected data to permit detection and predictive analysis of traffic patterns, weather patterns and other forces of nature. The system and method can analyze duration and magnitude of vibration signals, and considering maps and known locations of devices, tracks and highways and historical data regarding each, use machine learning techniques to accurately classify the motion and provide real-time and predictive analysis.

A system and method for automatic path light control based on a detected size and classification of motion around the device using passive infrared (PIR) sensor technologies and distributed classification algorithms, and on detected light levels in and around the path area using ambient light sensor (ALS) technologies. Various embodiments provide a wearable camera that is configured to take a cluster of photographs and use image processing techniques to select a photograph with a lesser amount of blur than other photographs in the cluster. The wearable camera can include one or more of a gyroscope or accelerometer for ascertaining the camera's motion. Motion data associated with the camera's motion is utilized to ascertain when to take an automatic photograph.

Various embodiments provide a capture device, e.g., a camera, that is configured to have multiple capture modes including an image capture mode and a video capture mode. The capture device can be set to the image capture mode in which images or photos are periodically, automatically captured. Upon detection of a particular event, such as an audibly detectable event, the capture device automatically triggers the video capture mode and begins to capture video. After a period of time, the capture device can transition back to the image capture mode. Transition to the image capture mode can occur in various ways, e.g., after passage of a period of time, after the audibly detectable event terminates or attenuates, by way of user input and the like. In some embodiments, the capture device can be embodied as a wearable camera that is worn by a user.

Automatic insertion of video into a photo story

Various embodiments provide a wearable camera that can be worn by a user. The wearable camera includes an accelerometer that can be used to detect camera motion. Input can be provided to the camera in the form of one or more taps which have an associated motion profile, as sensed by the accelerometer. The tap or taps can be mapped to camera functionality to activate the functionality.
