Methods, compositions, and kits for adhering polymers and other materials to another material, and in particular to bone or bone-like structures or surfaces. A composition of matter includes a urethane dimethacrylate-methyl methacrylate copolymer with a plurality of first polymer regions based on urethane dimethacrylate and a plurality of second polymer regions based on methyl methacrylate. The method includes placing an orthopedic joint implant having an attachment surface in a joint space, applying a first non-urethane-containing precursor, a second urethane-containing precursor, and a initiator to the attachment surface; contacting the first and second precursors and the initiator with the joint surface; and copolymerizing the first and second precursors and forming an adhesive copolymer and attaching the implant to the joint.

An implant container includes a first component for surrounding and enclosing an implant and a second component adapted for maintaining, supporting, and conforming the shape of the implant. The implant container designed to have at least one component attachable to the implant and to a delivery instrument or tool. The implant container component having a material allowing transmission of light through a thickness of the container and a thickness of an attached implant to cure an adhesive placed between the implant and a bone surface. Additionally, embodiments described provide delivery instruments and tools for attaching implants and implants within containers to a joint or bone surface.

Systems, devices, and methods for anchoring orthopaedic implants to bone

A composition of matter comprising a hydrophobic or hydrophilic (or both) interpenetrating polymer network containing a non-ionic/ionic polymer and a hydrophobic thermoset or thermoplastic polymer, articles made from such composition and methods of preparing such articles. The invention also includes a process for preparing a hydrophobic/hydrophilic IPN or semi-IPN from a hydrophobic thermoset or thermoplastic polymer including the steps of placing an non-ionizable/ionizable monomer solution in contact with a hydrophobic thermoset or thermoplastic polymer; diffusing the monomer solution into the hydrophobic thermoset or thermoplastic polymer; and polymerizing the monomers to form a penetrating polymer inside the hydrophobic thermoset or thermoplastic polymer, thereby forming the IPN or semi-IPN.

Hydrophobic and hydrophilic interpenetrating polymer networks derived from hydrophobic polymers and methods of preparing the same
