A piston-type differential pressure gauge provides an electronic output for remote monitoring. A linear potentiometer, in communication with a magnetic portion of the piston of the gauge, tracks the location of the piston. Resistance change in the potentiometer can be used by an electronic circuit to provide the electronic output of the differential pressure remotely to a data acquisition system or control electronics.

A passive device to neutralize electrostatic charging of fuel when it exists a filter monitor cartridge is described. Filter cartridges containing light filter media generate electrostatic charges, which flow with the fuel as it exists the filter. The device neutralizes the charges as the charges fuel exits the filter/monitor using corona discharge.

A hydrocarbon fluid filter monitor cartridge having apparatus for neutralizing the electrostatic charge in the transient fluid including a mass of filter material, and electrical conductor having a main conductive path and a plurality of cooperating electrically conductive paths extending from the main conductive path, and means for directing the flow of hydrocarbon fluid to be treated through the mass of filter material and in contact with the conductor whereby the electrostatic charge in the transient fluid is neutralized by corona discharge.

A filter coalescer cartridge for treating jet fuels comprising spaced apart filter/coalescer layers to effectively remove particulate contaminants and water from the transient fuel being treated.

A separator cartridge comprises a support screen comprising a substantially rigid reinforced plastic cylinder including an inner first major surface and an outer second major surface, a first nonwoven polymer layer adhered to the inner first major surface of the support screen, a second nonwoven polymer layer adhered to the outer second major surface of the support screen, and a polymeric screen contacting and frictionally engaging the second nonwoven polymer layer, the polymeric screen including a hydrophobic coating.

A separator cartridge comprises a support screen comprising a substantially rigid reinforced plastic cylinder including an inner first major surface and an outer second major surface, a first nonwoven polymer layer adhered to the inner first major surface of the support screen, a second nonwoven polymer layer adhered to the outer second major surface of the support screen, and a polymeric screen contacting and frictionally engaging the second nonwoven polymer layer, the polymeric screen including a hydrophobic coating. The invention also contemplates a process for preparing the separator cartridge.
