Screw on caps for bottles that have an anti back off feature formed on a hinged tab of the cap engaging detent teeth below the threads on the bottle. The hinge has a unique configuration that enables the tab to snap into and hold a gripping position while avoiding temporary distortion or creep. The detent teeth are particularly suited for use with blow molded bottles and are capable of restraining a cap within a small angle of a fully tightened position to avoid any significant back off and potential leakage. In one embodiment, the anti back off feature is provided in a child resistant cap while in another embodiment this feature is provided in a simpler continuous thread cap.

Anti back off screw on closure

A screw-on closure for bottles that initially works with an induction seal liner and provides a leak resistant reseal on the bottle after the liner is removed. The closure has a unique annular convex sealing surface that overlies the mouth of the bottle. The sealing surface and the closure body area supporting it are sufficiently massive to withstand the heat generated in an induction liner sealing process and have a geometry that promotes a line contact with the mouth of the bottle to ensure a drip resistant reclose. A dispensing aperture of the cap is sealed by a hinged flap that has its sealing surface areas strategically located relative to the hinge to ensure repeated drip free opening and closing dispensing operation.

Closure for liquids

The invention provides a glue-on closure for a composite can or the like that affords an original hermetic seal. A tamper-evident tear band allows the closure to be conveniently opened. Separate end wall and sidewall parts of the closure are configured to provide reclosability with a surface-to-surface contact plug fit.

Single flap push in closure with over catch

An injection molded thermoplastic closure for a container having a generally planar wall and an integrally molded push-in tab within the area of the wall. The push-in tab has its boundary formed by discontinuities in the closure wall and the discontinuities are hermetically closed with a sealant applied locally in an arcuate pattern by rotation of the closure relative to a sealant applicator. A hinge line of the push-in tab has a construction that improves hinge integrity.

Rotor-type dispenser

A rotor-style sift-resistant dispensing closure of injection-molded thermoplastic having a base that provides a resilient seal on its dispensing hole and a rotor carried on the base in a position that compresses the seal for sealing effectiveness. The rotor is accurately maintained in a flat configuration by the base which retains the rotor both at its center and at its periphery and which stabilizes the rotor against distortion with upstanding supporting ribs situated between the center and periphery of the rotor.

Sift-resistant dispensing closure

A screw-on flap-style dispensing cap having a snap catch for releasably holding the flap in its closed position. The snap catch and supporting cap body and flap areas are configured to increase the retaining force produced by the snap catch when the cap is locally deformed as the cap is applied to a container mouth with a relatively high torque level so that a tendency of the flap to pop open when over-tightened is compensated.

A screw on container closure has a hinged flap on a dispensing aperture for spooning out product. The flap and aperture have a sealing flash structure that provides a moisture resistant seal therebetween. An integral resilient sealing flange within the closure provides a moisture-resistant seal on the mouth of a container.
