A hearing aid () includes an earpiece (), a casing (), and coupling member (). The earpiece () is configured to sit at least partially within the user's ear canal when worn. The casing () supports a sound processor () and a microphone () and is configured to sit behind a users ear and in contact with the user's pinna when worn. The coupling member () couples the casing () to the earpiece (). The coupling member () has an effective length that is adjustable to accommodate users with different ear geometries.

Adjustable fit hearing aids

The present disclosure provides hearing assistance devices and methods of generating a resonance within hearing assistance devices that use moving coil drivers, e.g., electro-dynamic coil drivers. As small moving coil drivers are typically inefficient within the voice band of frequencies, e.g., above 1 kHz, the hearing assistance devices described herein utilize the resonance of a mass within the hearing assistance device and a compliance of air within the housing of the hearing assistance device or within portions of the acoustic driver housing to aid in amplification of select frequencies within the voice band of human speech, e.g., between 2.5 kHz and 6 kHz. By using the assistance of the resonance created, the moving coil driver utilized does not need to operate as efficiently within the range of resonance frequencies.

Hearing assistance devices and methods of generating a resonance within a hearing assistance device

An earpiece includes an electro-acoustic transducer and a housing that supports the electro-acoustic transducer such that the housing and the electro-acoustic transducer together define a first acoustic volume and a second acoustic volume. The electro-acoustic transducer is arranged such that a first radiating surface of the transducer radiates acoustic energy into the first acoustic volume and a second radiating surface of the transducer radiates acoustic energy into the second acoustic volume. A mesh is disposed along an outlet of the housing and is arranged to inhibit debris from entering the front acoustic volume. A first microphone is supported in the housing. The first microphone includes a microphone port for sensing pressure. A chimney surrounds the microphone port and mechanically couples the first microphone to the mesh.

Earpieces

Processes and devices for equalizing an audio system that is adapted to use a loudspeaker to transduce test audio signals into test sounds. The processes and devices can involve the use of infrared signals to convey information in one or both directions between the audio system and a portable computer device that captures test sounds, calculates audio parameters that can be used in the equalization process, and transmits these audio parameters back to the audio system for its use in equalizing audio signals that are played by the audio system.

Port placement for in-ear wearable with active noise cancellation

A wearable audio device including first and second transducer modules is provided. The first transducer module may include a first transducer. The first transducer module may further include a first enclosure having a top side defining a first slit and a bottom side defining a second slit. The first enclosure may be configured to guide a first sound pressure through the first slit, and a second sound pressure through the second slit. The second transducer module may include a second transducer. The second transducer module may include a second enclosure having a top side defining a third slit and a bottom side defining a fourth slit. The second enclosure may be configured to guide a third sound pressure through the third slit, and a fourth sound pressure through the fourth slit. The third and fourths slit may be arranged diagonally opposite the first and second slits, respectively.

Individually assignable transducers to modulate sound output in open ear form factor

A system for augmenting the motion of a person includes an assistance apparatus with a first attachment for connecting the assistance apparatus to a first point on the person's body, a second attachment for connecting the apparatus to a second point on the person's body, an actuator for applying force between the first and second attachment points, the force augmenting motion of a part of the body, and a set of sensors detecting reaction force on the person's body when moving in the manner that the actuator augments. A control system implements a negative feedback loop, in which the force applied by the actuator is based on a weighted sum of measurements from the sensors, and is updated continuously based on the sensor measurements.

Augmenting human motion

Aspects of the present disclosure provide a product configured to obtain biological signals associated with a user. The biological signals may be used to trigger the product of an upcoming, separate command. The product may take action based on the received command. As described herein, the biological signals may comprise a change in electrical potential of a user, such as an EMG, EEG, or EOG signal. The separate command may be other biological signals, a voice command, or a gesture. The product may be configured to control itself and/or a device external to the product.
