Dynamic adjustment of power modes

An apparatus for component cooling includes a first heat transfer element configured to be thermally coupled to a heat-generating electronic component, and a second heat transfer element. The apparatus further includes a plurality of heat transfer paths thermally coupled between the first heat transfer element and the second heat transfer element. Each of the plurality of heat transfer paths configured to provide a separate heat conduction path from the first heat transfer element to the second heat transfer element. The apparatus further includes a manifold including a first fluid passage providing a first portion of a heat transfer fluid in thermal contact with the first heat transfer element, and a second fluid passage providing a second portion of the heat transfer fluid in thermal contact with the second heat transfer element.

Component cooler for a computing device

A computing device is provided which comprises memory and a processor in communication with the memory. The processor is configured to autonomously acquire input parameter values, comprising one of monitored device input parameter values from a component of the computing device and monitored user input parameter values. The processor is also configured to select, from a plurality of modes of operation, a mode of operation comprising parameter settings which are determined based on the acquired input parameter values, each of the plurality of modes of operation comprising different parameter settings configured to control the computing device to operate at a different level of performance. The processor is also configured to control operation of the computing device by tuning the parameter settings of the computing device according to the selected mode of operation comprising the determined parameter settings.

System agnostic autonomous system state management

An apparatus and method for efficiently managing performance among multiple integrated circuits in separate semiconductor chips. In various implementations, a computing system includes at least a first processing node and a second processing node. While processing tasks, the first processing node accesses a first memory and the second processing node accesses a second memory. A first communication channel transfers data between the first and second processing nodes. The first processing node accesses the second memory using a second communication channel different from the first communication channel and supports point-to-point communication. The second memory services access requests from the first and second processing nodes as the access requests are received while foregoing access conflict detection. The first processing node accesses the second memory after a particular amount of time has elapsed after reception of an indication from the second processing node specifying that a particular task has begun.

Off-chip memory shared by multiple processing nodes

An electronic device includes an accelerated processing unit (APU) and multiple elements. The APU performs operations for a platform boost and throttle (PBT) controller. For the operations, the APU receives a platform electrical power limit, the platform electrical power limit being a limit on a total electrical power allowed to be consumed by a group of the elements at a given time. The APU then determines a present platform electrical power consumption. The APU next adjusts one or more operating parameters for specified elements from among the group of elements to control electrical power consumption by the specified elements based on a relationship between the present platform electrical power consumption and the platform electrical power limit.

A processing system includes one or more power supply monitors (PSMs) to measure one or more first voltages corresponding to one or more locations in the processing system. The measurements are performed concurrently with the processing system executing one or more code loops. The processing system also includes calibration logic to modify a second voltage provided to the processing system based on a comparison of a reference voltage and the one or more first voltages. The reference voltage is determined based on previous execution of the one or more code loops by the processing system.

A multi-core microprocessor provides an indication of the power management state of each of the cores on output terminals. Cooling of the cores is adjusted responsive to the indication of the power management state of the respective cores with additional cooling being provided to those cores in a more active state and less cooling provided to those cores in a less active state.

A bi-directional underwater icewalker is disclosed. The icewalker comprises a flotation base, a moveable rod connected to the underside of the base, a flotation arm attached to the rod containing a flotation arm skate and culminating in a spike at one end, a plurality of flotation base skates and a line attached to the bottom of the rod at one end and whose other end passes through an eyelet which is attached to the underside of the flotation base. By pulling on the line, the icewalker moves bi-directionally underneath a mass of ice.

Bi-directional underwater icewalker

A moveable underwater icewalker is disclosed. The icewalker comprises, a flotation base, a moveable rod connected to the underside of the base, a flotation arm attached to the rod and culminating in spikes at one end, a plurality of skates and a line attached to the bottom of the rod at one end and whose other end passes through an eyelet which is attached to the underside of the flotation base. By pulling on the line, the icewalker moves forward underneath a mass of ice. The icewalker may cover any distance in any direction that the user desires.

Underwater ice walker

A fixed wing powered light aircraft has a fuselage formed by laterally spaced longitudinal tubular booms supporting a twin vertical stabilizer and rudder assembly and a horizontal stabilator. A tubular framework pylon structure is secured to the fuselage booms for supporting a propulsion engine driving a propeller arranged in a pusher configuration. An open cockpit is partially shrouded by a streamlined nose cowl and longitudinal cockpit side panels which meet along the longitudinal center line aft of the pylon. Two piece removable wing root fairings minimize drag and streamline airflow approaching the empennage. The aircraft is adapted for military applications with adjustable support brackets for aiming plural missile launch tubes on each wing. A pilot seat is mounted on an adjustable support structure comprising in eccentric arm and track for supporting longitudinal seat support rails. The engine fuel tank is supported by the pylon and includes an anti-slosh baffle dividing the tank into a main fuel reservoir and a sump portion having a connecting opening and a non-return valve to prevent starvation of the sump portion during violent in flight maneuvers. The main gear wheels are provided with hydraulic brake assemblies actuated by rudder pedal toe portions connected to hydraulic brake actuating cylinders mounted on the backsides of the rudder pedals. Adjustable machine gun mounts are disposed forward on each of the fuselage booms.
