A viscous damper includes a damper housing and a shaft extending through the damper housing. The shaft includes a first exposed end and a second exposed end. A gear is mated to the first exposed end of the shaft. A spring is connected to the second exposed end of the shaft. A storage bin is also disclosed.

A latch assembly for a vehicle bin includes a latch housing having an integrated bumper. The latch housing defines a latch opening and a base adapted to carry the bumper. The bumper includes a load edge and is disposed on the base to provide a constant load around the latch opening. The load edge may define one of a planar load edge, a serrated load edge, and a scalloped load edge.

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for the creation and dispensing of a custom formulation within a package at a retail point of sale. In one aspect, the invention includes an automated dispensing apparatus including at least a two-axis robot arm. In another aspect, the invention includes an automated mixer adapted to mix the dispensed custom formulation within the package.

A proximity switch assembly and method for detecting activation of a proximity switch assembly is provided. The assembly includes a plurality of proximity switches each having a proximity sensor providing a sense activation field and control circuitry processing the activation field of each proximity switch to sense activation. A pliable material overlays the proximity sensors. The control circuitry monitors the activation field and determines an activation of a proximity switch based on a signal generated by the sensor in relation to a threshold when a user's finger depresses the pliable material. The pliable material may further include an elevated portion and an air gap between the elevated portion and the sensor.

An electronic connector system includes one or more electronic components electronically coupled to one another by an elastomeric connector. The elastomeric connector is disposed in a compressed condition against the one or more electronic components to form a sound electrical connection therebetween. A casing is provided about the elastomeric connector to retain the elastomeric connector in the compressed condition as coupled to the one or more electronic components. The casing may be an overmolded polymer that is injection molded about the electrical connection between the elastomeric connector and the one or more electronic components.
