In a bearing support () for a laser resonator, adjacent support sections () are directly and undetachably connected to each other by an articulated deflectable joint (). An additional vertical safety on the bearing support is no longer necessary since the two support sections () are already held together in a vertically secure manner by the articulated joint ().

A machine tool installation () for the processing of workpieces includes encompasses a work area () for the machining of workpieces and contains a workpiece support (), a work area enclosure () featuring a gate () and at least one corresponding door segment () which can be moved in the horizontal direction between open and closed positions and is supported on the substructure of the machine installation () in horizontally movable fashion. Provided above the substructure of the machine tool installation (), and attached solely to the workpiece support () is at least one stationary guide element () for the door segments () and extending over at least part of the width of the gate.

Known power lasers have outstanding electrical, optical and mechanical properties, in spite of different temperature conditions during switching on and during operation. However, they are expensive. These properties are retained, despite cheaper production costs in that, starting from a solid monolithic optical bench, several mirror blocks and intermediate blocks are mechanically rigidly connected to this, and are shaped such that they do not deflect during chip-removing machining, and those bores necessary for the laser path are only then provided.
