A vehicle heater includes a heater housing ('), through which heating air to be heated can flow, with a heating air inlet area and with a heating air outlet area. A burner unit is arranged in the heater housing. A combustion air blower (&#x2032;) is arranged in the heater housing for delivering combustion air to the burner unit. A heat exchanger unit is arranged in the heater housing (&#x2032;). Heating air flowing through the heater housing (&#x2032;) can flow around the heat exchanger unit. A combustion air intake muffler () is arranged essentially in the heater housing (&#x2032;). A muffler housing () made in one piece with the heater housing (&#x2032;) is associated with the combustion air blower (&#x2032;).

Vehicle heater

A fuel-operated vehicle heater includes a burner area () with a combustion chamber (); a fuel pump (); and a combustion air blower (). A pressure sensor () detects a feed back pressure. An actuating unit () actuates the fuel pump () with a predefined value of a pump operating variable, and actuates the combustion air blower with a predefined value of a blower operating variable. A heater process includes detecting the feed back pressure in case of a feed operating state set during the combustion operation and comparing the detected feed back pressure (P) with an expected feed back pressure (P) for the set feed operating state. If the detected feed back pressure deviates from the expected feed back pressure the pump operating variable is changed such that the feed back pressure changes toward the expected feed pressure and/or essentially corresponds to the expected feed back pressure.

Process for operating a fuel-operated vehicle heater and fuel-operated vehicle heater

A combustion air blower, especially side channel blower, for a fuel-operated vehicle heater, includes a blower housing (). An air flow space (), through which combustion air being fed can flow, is formed in the blower housing (). Air flowing over an inlet area () into the air flow space () flows to a feed area enclosing a feed wheel (). At least one hydrocarbon storage element () is formed in the air flow space (), for storing gaseous hydrocarbon present in the air flow space ().

Combustion air blower

A vehicle heater includes a heater housing (), through which heating air to be heated can flow, with a heating air inlet area and with a heating air outlet area. A burner unit is arranged in the heater housing. A combustion air blower is arranged in the heater housing for feeding combustion air to the burner unit. A heat exchanger unit is arranged in the heater housing (). Heating air flowing through the heater housing () can flow around the heat exchanger unit. A combustion air intake muffler (), which is essentially arranged in the heater housing (), is associated with the combustion air blower ().

A combustion chamber assembly unit for a fuel-operated vehicle heater includes a combustion chamber housing () elongated in a direction of a housing longitudinal axis (L), with a combustion chamber () radially outwardly bounded by a circumferential wall (), and with a combustion chamber bottom () axially delimiting the combustion chamber (). A combustion air feed volume () is provided that is open to the combustion chamber () via a plurality of passage openings (). A cooling medium feed device () is provided for feeding a liquid cooling medium to the combustion air feed volume ().

Combustion chamber assembly unit

A heat exchanger unit, especially for a fuel-operated vehicle heater, with a heat exchanger housing () with an outer wall () and with an inner wall (), wherein the outer wall () and the inner wall () define a heat carrier medium flow space (), through which heat carrier medium (M) can flow, wherein at least one sensor mounting opening () is formed in the outer wall () and a sensor () is received in the at least one sensor mounting opening () in a fluid-tight manner and displaceably and protruding into the heat carrier medium flow space () with an area () protruding into the flow space and supported on the inner wall, wherein a prestressing element () acting on the sensor () for supporting it at the inner wall () is associated with the sensor (), wherein the prestressing element () is fixed in a fixing area () in relation to an outer housing () enclosing the heat exchanger unit () in at least some areas and it acts on the sensor () in an action area () for support at the inner wall ().

Heat exchanger unit

A vehicle temperature control system, especially for a hybrid vehicle, includes a first heat transfer medium circuit () including an internal combustion engine (), a heater () and one or preferably a plurality of heat transfer areas () for transferring heat between a first heat transfer medium, circulating in the first heat transfer medium circuit (), and a first group of system areas to be thermally treated. A second heat transfer medium circuit () includes a heat one or preferably a plurality of heat transfer areas for the transfer of heat between a second heat transfer medium, circulating in the second heat transfer medium circuit (), and a second group of system areas () to be thermally treated. A heat transfer medium circuit heat exchanger unit () transfers heat between the first heat transfer medium and the second heat transfer medium.

Vehicle temperature control system

A delivery device provides two medium flows guided separately from one another in a fuel-operated vehicle heater. The delivery device includes a first delivery wheel () rotatable about a first rotation axis (A) for delivering a first medium, a second delivery wheel () rotatable about a second rotation axis (A) for delivering a second medium, as well as a drive motor () for driving the first delivery wheel () and the second delivery wheel (). At least one delivery wheel () is coupled with the drive motor () via a magnetic coupling device ().

A combustion chamber assembly unit, for a fuel-operated vehicle heater, includes a combustion chamber housing () with a combustion chamber () defined by a circumferential wall () and by a bottom area (). A flame tube () follows the circumferential wall () in the direction of a housing longitudinal axis (L) and encloses a waste gas flow space () that is open in the direction of the housing longitudinal axis (L). A flame diaphragm () has a flow-through opening (). A waste gas backflow space () is formed between the flame tube () and a housing () enclosing same. The waste gas flow space () is open towards the waste gas backflow space () in a first axial end area () of the waste gas backflow space (). A catalytic converter device (), through which combustion waste gases can flow, is provided in the waste gas backflow space ().

Combustion chamber assembly unit for a fuel-operated vehicle heater

A heater side channel blower includes a blower housing () with a bottom wall () and a circumferential wall (), that enclose a first flow chamber in a housing interior (). A ring-shaped delivery duct (), open towards an outer side of the blower housing (), is provided at the bottom wall (). A flow medium inlet (), for the entry of medium to be delivered into the housing interior (), is open towards the first flow chamber. A second flow chamber () is provided in the housing interior (). A flow medium outlet (), for the discharge of medium to be delivered from the housing interior (), is open towards the delivery duct () to the second flow chamber (). The first flow chamber is separated from the second flow chamber () by at least one chamber separation element () that is permeable to medium to be delivered.

Side channel blower, especially for a vehicle heater

A heat exchanger unit, especially for a vehicle heater, includes a heat exchanger housing () with a heat transfer medium inlet opening () and with a heat transfer medium outlet opening (). At least one connecting branch (), is inserted or can be inserted into the heat transfer medium inlet opening () and the heat transfer medium outlet opening (). At least one housing locking element meshing recess () is provided in association with the at least one connecting branch () in the heat exchanger housing (). A locking element (), locking the connecting branch () on the heat exchanger housing (), is positioned or can be positioned such that the locking element () meshes with the at least one housing locking element meshing recess () and with at least one connecting branch locking element meshing recess ().

A feed pump (), especially fuel feed pump for a vehicle heater, includes a pump piston () movable to and fro in a pump chamber (). The pump piston ejects and receives fluid. A driving arrangement () drives the pump piston (). The driving arrangement () includes at least one driving element () made of magnetic shape memory material.

Feed pump, especially fuel feed pump for a vehicle heater

A pump, especially for delivering liquid fuel for a vehicle heater, includes a pump body () providing a pump chamber (). The pump body () is made with magnetic shape memory material at least in some areas. The pump further includes a field-generating arrangement () for generating a magnetic field (M). The magnetic shape memory material of the pump body () can be brought from an initial state into a deformed state by generating a magnetic field (M) by the field-generating arrangement (). A pump chamber volume in the deformed state differs from the pump chamber volume present in the initial state.

Heat input fluid flows through and/or around at least one heat transfer medium flow zone () for feeding heat into this heat transfer medium flow zone (), or/and heat discharge fluid flows through and/or around at least one heat transfer medium flow zone () for discharging heat from the flow zone ().

Temperature control unit, especially vehicle temperature control unit

A side channel blower includes a housing () a motor () with a motor shaft that rotates about a motor axis. A first blower housing area () has a first delivery channel () with an inlet () and outlet () and is open towards a first axial side () and surrounds the motor axis. A first delivery wheel () covers the first delivery channel () and is carried at a first end area () of a motor shaft (). A second blower housing area () has a second delivery channel () with an inlet () and with an outlet () and is open towards a second axial side () and surrounds the motor axis. A second delivery wheel () is located opposite the second axial side () and covers the second delivery channel () and is carried at a second end area () of the motor shaft ().
