A fuel injector has a valve needle that has a maximum diameter at a flow-off edge, and a valve seat acting together with the valve needle using a sealing seat, the valve seat widening, starting from the sealing seat up to a discharge edge, and the flow-off edge of the valve needle being offset backwards, in relation to the flow direction, with respect to the discharge edge of the valve seat, when the fuel injector is closed. The flow-off edge of the valve needle is offset backwards with respect to the discharge edge of the valve seat in a predetermined range of 2 micrometers to 20 micrometers, in the direction of a longitudinal valve axis.

Fuel injector

Damping elements for a fuel injection valve insertable into a receiving conduit of a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine are disposed between a valve housing of the fuel injection valve and a wall of the receiving conduit of the cylinder head. These damping elements, inter alia, decrease acoustic transfer from the fuel injection valve to the cylinder head. It is disadvantageous that conventional damping elements require a great deal of axial installation space with respect to a valve axis and have comparatively high manufacturing costs. With the damping element according to example embodiments of the present invention, the installation space required is reduced. Provision is made, according to example embodiments of the present invention, for the damping element to be in plate-shaped fashion.

Damping element for a fuel injection valve

A fuel injector has a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator, which actuates a valve-closure member cooperating with a valve-seat surface a sealing seat. An hydraulic coupler includes a master piston, a slave piston, and a coupler volume formed in-between, the coupler volume being connected to a compensating chamber via a throttle. An elastic flexible section delimits the compensating chamber at least partially, and the coupler volume, the throttle, and the compensating chamber are filled with an hydraulic medium. The flexible section exerts a pressure on the hydraulic medium due to prestressing, and the force of a compression spring, which is braced either directly and/or via fixed components on the slave piston and the master piston, is directed with an initial stress in such a way that the force enlarges the coupler volume.

Fuel-injection valve

A fuel injector has a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator, which actuates a valve-closure member cooperating with a valve-seat surface to form a sealing seat. A hydraulic coupler includes a master piston, a slave piston, and a coupler volumeformed in-between. The master piston and the slave piston are axially displaceable with respect to one another. The coupler volume is connected to a compensating chamber via a throttle. A flexible section delimits the compensating chamber at least partially, and the coupler volume, the throttle, and the compensating chamber are filled with a hydraulic medium. At least one spring element directly or indirectly exerts pressure on the flexible section from the outside, via fixed components.

A fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine includes a valve needle situated in a nozzle body, the valve needle being actuable by an actuator and acted upon by a restoring spring in such a manner that a valve-closure member which is in operative connection to the valve needle and faces the combustion chamber is kept in sealing contact with a valve-seat surface in the non-actuated state of the actuator. A first jet-opening angle &#x3b1;is assigned to a first lift state of the valve needle and a second jet-opening angle &#x3b1;to a second lift state of the valve needle.

Fuel injection valve

A fuel injector, in particular a fuel injector for fuel-injection systems of internal combustion engines, including a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator, actuates a valve-closure member formed on a valve needle via a hydraulic coupler, the valve-closure member cooperating with a valve-seat surface to form a valve-sealing seat. The coupler includes a master piston and a slave piston which are connected to a pressure chamber, and at least one coupler-spring element which in each instance produces a prestressing force on the master piston, counter to a working direction, and on the slave piston, in a working direction. The pressure chamber of the coupler is connected to a fuel inflow in the flow-through direction to the pressure chamber via an inflow bore and a check valve.

A fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine includes a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator, a hydraulic coupler, the hydraulic coupler having a master piston and a slave piston that are connected to a pressure chamber, and the pressure chamber being filled with an hydraulic fluid. The pressure chamber is sealed from an actuator chamber by a first seal and from a valve interior chamber by a second seal.

A fuel injector (), in particular a fuel injector () for fuel injection systems, includes a first solenoid () cooperating with an armature (), a second solenoid () cooperating with the armature (), and a valve needle () friction-locked to the armature () for actuating a valve closing body, a force being exertable on the armature () in a closing direction using the first solenoid () and in an opening direction using the second solenoid ().

Fuel injection valve and method for operating the same

A cylinder head for a combustion cylinder of an internal combustion engine is provided, which has at least one inlet opening and at least one outlet opening, as well as gas exchange valves which are operable by electrohydraulic valve actuators, some of which gas exchange valves function as inlet valves to control the at least one inlet opening, and some of which gas exchange valves function as outlet valves to control the at least one outlet opening. For the purpose of producing a compact, complete module which, as a separate component, may be tested for reliability and may be installed into the engine block of the internal combustion engine without additional preassembly effort, the cylinder head is provided with at least one high pressure line for supplying fluid under high pressure and at least one recycling line for recycling fluid, which have coupling openings for the hydraulic coupling of the valve actuators, and also means for fastening the valve actuators are provided.

Cylinder head

A fuel injector for the direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine encompasses a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator, a valve needle actuable by the actuator, the valve needle cooperating with a valve-closure member to form a sealing seat together with a valve-seat member, and a restoring spring by which the valve needle is acted on in a closing direction. The valve needle is pressure-equalized in that the force exerted by the fuel pressure on the valve needle in the opening direction is approximately equal to the force exerted by the fuel pressure on the valve needle in the closing direction.

A fuel injector is described, in particular an injector for fuel injection systems in internal combustion engines, that includes a valve needle having a valve-closure member which cooperates with a valve-seat surface arranged in valve-seat member to form a sealing seat and which has several injection orifices which are arranged downstream from the sealing seat, and are sealed by sealing seat against a fuel supply. A disk element is arranged downstream from the sealing seat, the disk element having at least one valve section, which changes its shape when the temperature changes. Valve section is connected to a heating element and optionally covers an injection orifice.

A fuel injector, e.g., an injector for fuel injection devices in internal combustion engines, has a valve needle with a valve-closure member which cooperates with a valve seat surface in a valve seat body to form a sealing seat, in which the valve seat body has a plurality of injection orifices that are isolated from the fuel supply by sealing seat. The valve-closure member has a pressure element in a recess facing the valve seat body, which is pre-tensioned against the valve seat body by a spring which is supported on the valve-closure member and presses a disc spring against the valve seat body, in such manner that the disc spring covers at least one of the injection orifices, and the spring element uncovers this injection orifice when the tension exerted by the pressure element is removed.

A fuel injector for fuel injection systems in internal combustion engines, including an actuator, a valve needle operable by the actuator for operating a valve-closure member, which, together with a valve-seat surface forms a sealing seat and a swirl device including at least one swirl channel, through which fuel flows with a tangential component relative to a longitudinal axis of the fuel injector. The axial position of a plunger element determines a cross-section of at least one bypass channel that bypasses the at least one swirl channel without a tangential component.

A fuel injector for fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine includes a solenoid coil, an armature acted upon in a closing direction by a return spring, and a valve-closure member frictionally connected to the armature. The valve-closure member, together with a valve-seat surface, forms a sealing seat, the armature striking with an armature stop face against a magnetic-pole surface of a magnet body. The armature stop face includes a first annular, inner edge zone that adjoins an inner edge and is inclined inwardly with respect to a plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of the armature, and has a second annular, outside edge zone that adjoins an outer edge and is inclined outwardly with respect to a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the armature.

An apparatus for direct gasoline injection in a piston engine, which has a hydraulic valve control system with hydraulically actuated gas exchange valves. The direct gasoline injection is associated with the hydraulic valve control system via a pressure booster for two different pressure media, which is acted upon by hydraulic oil from a high-pressure hydraulic oil reservoir of the hydraulic valve control system and which subjects a high-pressure fuel reservoir to high pressure; injection valves for direct gasoline injection in the piston engine are connected to the high-pressure fuel reservoir.
