The embodiments herein relate to a network device, an access point and methods thereof for facilitating connection to a WiFi network. The method performed by the network device includes: detecting an access point provided with a service set identifier (SSID); connecting to said access point using said SSID; performing an authentication process towards an authentication and control server for verifying a unique certificate of the network device, which is paired with a corresponding certificate in said server; and in case the authentication process is successful, generating a unique identification information for enabling a user equipment to scan said unique identification information.

Methods and apparatuses for facilitating connection to a WiFi network

The invention relates to a method for setting up a communication connection to a server for a requesting network device. The method comprises: receiving reference authentication data; storing the reference authentication data; comparing received the authentication data of the requesting network device to the reference authentication data; requesting a communication connection from the server; and generating an acknowledgement signal to the requesting network device, the acknowledgement signal indicating the requesting network device an acceptance to connect to the server and a network address to be used for the connection, receiving a connection request from the network device; and combining the connection request with the communication connection set up between the authentication server and the server. The invention also relates to an authentication server device, a communication system, and a computer program product.

Setting up a connection

The invention relates to a method for determining an access right to a service, the method comprises: receiving a service request, generating at least one token, the at least one token being broadcast by at least one beacon device; receiving a message comprising at least data interpretable as a token, data from which the at least one beacon device is identifiable and data from which a position of the terminal device is derivable. By applying the received pieces of data it is possible to determine if an access to the service may be granted to the terminal device. The invention also relates to a network controller, a communication system and a computer program product.

Disclosed is a method for determining an authenticity of at least a portion of an audio stream of a voice call connection. In the method it is received a request for confirming an authenticity of at least portion of an audio stream of a voice call connection; detected a number of voice call connection specific watermark patterns included in the portion of the audio stream in question; and set, in accordance with a detection of the number of the voice call connection specific watermark patterns included in the portion of the audio stream, a detection result to express one of the following: i) the portion of the audio stream is authentic, ii) the portion of the audio stream is nonauthentic. Also disclosed is a network node, a computer program product and a system.

The embodiments herein relate to a method and a network device for providing services to user devices in a wireless network. The method comprises authenticating a user device to an Access Point of a WLAN or WiFi network; determining, by a network device, a location of the user device; assigning a VLAN to the user device based on the location of the user device; and providing at least one service available via the assigned VLAN network.

A scheme for managing ABR streaming of content in a wireless radio network environment that may have radio white spot areas. Upon determining that the wireless UE device executing an ABR client application is in a radio white spot area, the current ABR streaming session may be suspended at a particular segment. Thereafter, playback of other content locally cached at the wireless UE device may be commenced in lieu of the ABR media segments. When the wireless UE device exits the radio white spot area, the ABR streaming session may be resumed from a point adjacent to the particular segment where the ABR streaming session was suspended.

ABR video white spot coverage system and method

A method in a cache node () of a network comprises monitoring a secure data stream being received at the cache node from a server node, and detecting from one or more data chunks of the secure data stream that the secure data stream contains a data object that has been previously received and cached at the cache node, and sending a notification signal to the server node that the data object has been previously cached. The method may further comprise receiving one or more encryption header portions (e.g. TLS headers) from the server node, inserting a previously cached data chunk corresponding to each of the one or more encryption header portions into the data stream, and sending the data stream to a client device.

Apparatus and method for caching data

Disclosed is a communication system for positioning of a terminal device. The communication system includes at least three leaky coaxial cables, a server device for determining a position of a terminal device in response to a receipt of data from the terminal device through at least two coaxial cables. The server device is arranged to determine an indicator value representing the at least two coaxial cables through which the data from the terminal device is received and to compare the indicator value to change patterns stored in data storage accessible to the server device, and in response to a match in a comparison to generate data representing the position of the terminal device. Positioning solution

The embodiments herein relate to a mobile terminal and a method for accessing a wireless network in a roaming environment, the mobile terminal being pre-provided with credentials to access the wireless network, the mobile terminal further being provided with an application, said application includes a service part and an application part. The mobile terminal is configured to: send a request to a EAP server, the request including the credentials of the mobile terminal; connect the service part of the application to an access control server which adds/creates an EAP account for the mobile terminal for a predetermined time period; and to access the wireless network when the EAP server validly authenticates the credentials of the mobile terminal. The embodiments also relate to a method in the access control server and to the server.

Methods and apparatuses for conditional WiFi roaming

Disclosed is a method for granting access for a device to a private local network with a gateway device. The method includes: establishing a connection over the gateway device, wherein a request for accessing the private local network is transmitted; transmitting information on the device; receiving a request for preparing a setup of an authentication procedure; generating a pair of authentication keys; providing one of the generated authentication keys to the device requesting the access to the private local network; initiating the authentication procedure; granting access to the private local network for the device in response to a successful authentication procedure. The invention also relates to a gateway device, a computer program product and a system.

Provision of access to a network

Also disclosed are a computer program product for carrying out the above methods and a network node () and user equipment device () configured to carry out the above methods.

A method (), performed in a network node, for managing uplink traffic from a client device in a communication network is disclosed. The method comprises instructing the client device to cease sending uplink traffic on existing sessions between the client device and the network node (), checking for expiry of a time period (), and on expiry of the time period (), and instructing the client device to resume sending uplink traffic on existing sessions between the client device and the network node (). Also disclosed are a network node () and a computer program product configured, when run on a computer, to carry out a method for managing uplink traffic from a client device in a communication network.

Method and apparatus for managing uplink traffic from a client device in a communication network

There is provided a method for transmitting video content, the video content available for transmission in a plurality of quality levels. The method comprises identifying a user apparatus that has received a particular chunk of video content at a first quality level. The method further comprises transmitting to the identified user apparatus the filename for a chunk of video content corresponding to the particular chunk but at a second quality level.

A multi-view display device, including a controller that is operable to receive from a positioning device, position information representing positions of a left eye and a right eye of a viewer relative to the multi-view display. The viewer is able to activate a channel selection mode in which the multiview display simultaneously projects different stereoscopic channels on the side of his last position before starting the new mode, so he can see other channels by changing his head position. The viewer selects then a desired channel by which it ends the channel selection mode and switches the display to a mode where only one channel is stereoscopically displayed at a time.
