Disclosed herein is a nanocomposite comprising a core-shell nanoparticle and a core-shell quantum dot. The core-shell nanoparticle comprises a phosphor core, a shell layer, and a cleavable peptide. The core-shell quantum dot comprises a center core, an intermediate layer, an outer layer, a silica layer, and an arginylglycylaspartic acid (RGD) peptide. The core-shell nanoparticle and the core-shell quantum dot are linked to each other via forming a peptide bond between the cleavable peptide and the RGD peptide. Also disclosed are the uses of the nanocomposite in making a diagnosis of tumors.

Nanocomposite and uses thereof

Disclosed herein is a micro-reactor for synthesizing a molecule, for example, compound, a nanoparticle, or a quantum dot. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the apparatus comprises a processor, a storage unit, a reaction unit, a detector, and a collector, in which the storage unit and the reaction unit are independently controlled by the process. Optionally, the present micro-reactor further comprises a diagnostic device for performing a diagnostic test on a biological sample by use of the molecule. Also disclosed wherein are methods of diagnosing and treating a disease in a subject with the aid of the present micro-reactor.

Micro-reactor and method of use

Disclosed herein is an immunoconjugate comprising an antibody, a functional motif, and a linker connecting the functional motif to the antibody. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the antibody may recognize tumor-associated antigens (TAAs), and serves as a targeting module for delivering the functional motif connected therewith to the tumor cells thereby inhibiting tumor growth or detecting the distribution of tumor cells. Also disclosed herein are methods of treating cancers and methods of diagnosing cancers by use of the present immunoconjugate.

Nanoparticle-assisted ultrasound for breast cancer therapy

Methods for diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancers by detection of endogenous peptides in exhaled breath condensate (EBC) are provided. Diagnostic peptides derived from dermcidin (DC) are provided. A specific dermcidin-derived peptide E-R11, having the sequence ENAGEDPGLAR (SEQ ID NO:2), is provided. E-R11 peptide levels in EBC, as measured by mass spectrometry (MS), are highly diagnostic of non-small cell lung cancers. A method for inhibiting growth of lung cancer cells by inhibiting DCD expression by RNA interference also is provided.
