A brake booster comprising an envelope () having a longitudinal axis (X) formed of a first () and of a second () shell to define an interior volume divided by moving a skirt into a low-pressure first chamber and a variable-pressure second chamber. A three-way valve () actuated by a control rod places the front chamber and the rear chamber in communication at rest and during a braking phase interrupts the communication between the front chamber and the rear chamber and thereafter allows communication of pneumatic fluid at high pressure to the rear chamber. The booster is attached to the master cylinder by a clip-fastening arrangement wherein tabs () that radially extend from a sleeve tube () are plastically deformable in the radial direction on enter into a passage () in a flange () of the master cylinder and returning to the initial position when the attachment operation is complete.

A device for securing a hydraulic modulator to a vehicle includes a base for receiving a portion of the hydraulic modulator and a clamp movably connected to the base and movable between a first position, wherein the portion of the hydraulic modulator can be positioned on the base, and a second position, wherein the clamp is closed over the base to secure the portion of the hydraulic modulator to the base. The clamp includes a projection that extends over the base when the clamp is in the first position so that when the projection is engaged by the portion of the hydraulic modulator, the projection will automatically move the clamp from the first position toward the second position. In one aspect of the invention, the clamp is hinged to the base.

To enable economical production of a piston for a piston pump, the piston is made from a tubular deformed part and a closure plug, which is press-fitted with a protrusion into the deformed part. For simple and inexpensive manufacturability, the piston pump embodies an outlet conduit as a groove in a sleeve bottom and a sealing part. As a result, the sleeve and the sealing part can be manufactured in a non-cutting manner by means of forming. Another advantage of letting the outflow conduit into the sleeve bottom is that the outlet conduit is disposed a small distance in the axial direction from a valve seat of an outlet valve, which counteracts noise production.

A diameter-to-length ratio of the chamber is between 1:3 and 1:12. A piston pump, which is provided as a return feed pump for a slip-regulated motor vehicle brake system. In order to simplify the manufacture, a sleeve in the form of a tubular piece is clamped between a fastening element which is inserted into the cylinder bore using a self-clinching technique, and the cylinder bore, and is thus sealed and fixed in place. In addition to the simple manufacture of the sleeve out of reasonably priced tubular material, the piston pump has the advantage of a sealing of the sleeve in the cylinder bore without a separate sealing element such as a sealing ring.

When screwing in a screw to be sealed into a fluid-carrying threaded bore of a component, in order to prevent a rectangular sealing ring from extending into a gap between a radial flange of the screw and the component as a result of tangential stress, the sealing device embodies a rectangular sealing ring having a thinner thickness than a countersink into which the sealing ring is inserted. A radial flange of the screw includes a collar that protrudes into the countersink and elastically compresses the rectangular sealing ring so that the sealing ring rests sealingly against a bottom of the countersink and against the collar of the screw.
