An anesthetic evaporator unit () with an anesthetic container () for receiving liquid anesthetic, with a gas line () with an open-pore, porous line wall () for guiding gas and for enriching the gas with anesthetic, and with an anesthetic-guiding wick (), which extends from an interior space () of the anesthetic container () to the line wall () in order to supply the line wall () with anesthetic from the anesthetic container (). The anesthetic evaporator unit () has a heater () for heating the gas line (). A method for controlling the anesthetic evaporator unit () is also provided.

Anesthetic evaporator unit

A wick () includes a porous molding, which has a plurality of air ducts () extending in the vertical direction, a plurality of upper deflection chambers (), which connect each a first air duct pair () of the plurality of air ducts () to one another, and a plurality of lower deflection chambers (), which connect each a second air duct pair () of the plurality of air ducts () to one another. The two air ducts () of the second air duct pairs () are each associated with different first air duct pairs (). An anesthetic evaporator () includes a housing (), which receives the wick (), so that the vertical air ducts () and the upper and lower deflection chambers () form an air flow duct between the air inlet () and the air outlet ().

An anesthesia system for providing a breathing gas enriched with anesthetic has an anesthesia apparatus () and at least one anesthetic dispensing device (), which is detachably coupled with the anesthesia apparatus. A fluid connection () is provided between the anesthesia apparatus and the dispensing device, which is designed to send anesthetic from the dispensing device into the anesthesia apparatus. At least one optical interface is provided between the anesthesia apparatus and the dispensing device. At least one display device is provided in the dispensing device. The optical interface has at least one light source (), which is provided in the anesthesia apparatus, and at least one fiber optic light guide (), which is provided in the anesthetic dispensing device (). The light fed by the light source () into the fiber optic light guide is sent to the display device to directly or indirectly light the display device.

An anesthesia system () is provided with an anesthesia apparatus (), at least one anesthetic dispenser () and at least one parameter detection device () for detecting at least one parameter of the at least one anesthetic dispenser () at the anesthesia apparatus (). The parameter detection device () is provided with an apparatus interface unit () with at least one camera () at the anesthesia apparatus () and with a dispenser interface unit () with at least one image pattern () at the at least one anesthetic dispenser (). The at least one image pattern () can be detected by the camera (), and the dispenser interface unit () is a passive dispenser interface unit ().

A device for mixing anesthetic vapor with anesthetic gas has a pressure limitation feature achieved in a simple manner. The device has a valve device (), with which the evaporator is switched on and off. The valve device () is equipped with an overpressure release device ().

An anesthetic evaporator with a pressure control circuit has a differential pressure pick-up () can be calibrated in a simple manner. A switchover device () is provided according to the present invention at a bypass gap (), which is designed to connect the gas inlet () directly with the gas outlet () via a first bypass line () and to bridge over the bypass gap () via a second bypass line () connected to a ventilation duct () in a first switching position. The gas flow from the gas inlet () to the gas outlet () is established via the bypass line () in a second switching position. The calibration of the differential pressure pick-up () with the pneumatic connections () is performed in the first switching position of the switchover means () via the ventilation duct (), which is open toward the ambient atmosphere.

An alarm is associated with a device for dispensing volatile anesthetics. The alarm and device is designed such that an alarm is triggered whenever the operating voltage is interrupted and an assembly unit that determines the dispensing of at least one anesthetic is not in a prescribed state of operation.

An anesthetic tank () of an anesthetic dispensing unit is used especially for desflurane and has improved reliability of operation by mutually complementing level monitoring devices. The anesthetic tank () is equipped with a level tube () arranged in or on the outer wall with a connection line () into the interior space as well as with an optical level sensor (). The optical axis () of the level sensor () is located at the same level as a mark () on the level tube ().
