The first part () comprises, in addition to the semiconductor light source () and the cooling body (), at least one optical system () which collects and directs a light of the semiconductor light source.

Headlight for a motor vehicle having an interchangeable complex light source

A light module of a motor vehicle generates a spot distribution of a high-beam-light distribution formed by superimposition of the spot distribution and a base distribution generated by at least one other module. The light module comprises a plurality of separately controllable sub-modules that generate a plurality of stripe-shaped segments of the spot distribution that supplement it. Also, a headlight generates the high-beam-light distribution and comprises the light module. Furthermore, a headlight system comprises a pair of the headlights disposed in a front region toward sides of the vehicle and each of which generates the high-beam-light distribution. The headlights include corresponding light modules that generate stripe-shaped segments of left and right sides, respectively, of the spot distribution such that the stripe-shaped segments of the light modules of the headlights supplement the spot distribution or are at least partially superimposed thereon.

The invention relates to a light module () for a lighting device for a motor vehicle. The lighting module () comprises a light source () for emission of electromagnetic radiation, preferably in the form of light which is visible for the human eye, and a reflector () for focusing the emitted radiation. At its apex, in the area of its optical axis (), the reflector () has an opening () for holding a light-emitting part () of the light source (). A reflector neck () is formed on the reflector (), surrounding at least a part of the holding opening (), to which reflector neck () another part () of the light source () is attached. In order to reduce the installation space required for lighting devices in a motor vehicle, it is proposed that the reflector () has a slot (), which extends into the holding opening (), below the holding opening (), the width of which slot () transversely with respect to the optical axis () of the reflector () is greater than the width of the light-emitting part () of the light source (). The lamp () can therefore be replaced more easily, and in less space.

The present invention in various embodiments relates to an illuminating device for a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, for realizing an asymmetrical light distribution. The asymmetrical light distribution has a greater illumination depth on the vehicle's side of traffic than it does on the side of oncoming traffic.

The headlight has a light source (10) in the form of a gas discharge lamp and a reflector (12) which has a first reflector part (16) and a second reflector part (18). A converging light beam is reflected from the first reflector part (16) and a lens (26) and a stop (22) with an edge (24) for producing a light-dark boundary are arranged in the path of that beam. The second reflector part (18) is arranged above and/or beside the first reflector part (16) and is moveable between a position for low beam light, in which a light beam directed downward is reflected from it, and a position for high beam light, in which a light beam with a greater range is reflected from it. The light reflected by the second reflector part (18) in the position for low beam light can issue from the headlight and contribute to the formation of the low beam or be absorbed inside the headlight. A completely effective high beam is formed by a combination of the light reflected from the second reflector part (18) with the light reflected from the first reflector part (16) in the operating configuration for the high beam light.
