A grenade projectile has a projectile housing having a fragmentation length portion; an explosive charge accommodated in the projectile housing and being surrounded by the fragmentation length portion; a forwardly acting shaped charge liner bounding the explosive charge at a front end thereof, as viewed in the flight direction of the projectile; and a percussion fuse assembly accommodated in the projectile housing behind the explosive charge as viewed in the flight direction. The percussion fuse assembly includes a percussion member, a flight acceleration-responsive first safety arrangement and a centrifugal force-responsive second safety arrangement for arming the percussion member when the projectile reaches a predetermined acceleration and a predetermined spin.

Grenade-type projectile

An ammunition comprises a cartridge casing and a propellant unit disposed in the cartridge casing including a propellant housing having a length oriented codirectionally with the length of the cartridge casing, a rear terminal portion held in a rear base of the casing and a frontal terminal portion provided with an external thread. The ammunition further has a projectile housing having a rear length portion received in the frontal end portion of the cartridge casing; and an annular sleeve affixed to the exterior face of the projectile housing base and being in alignment with the propellant housing. The annular sleeve has an internal thread being in a threaded engagement with the external thread of the propellant housing and weakened portions immediately adjacent the exterior face for causing a rupture of the annular sleeve in response to a predetermined propelling force seeking to separate the projectile housing from the cartridge casing upon igniting the propellant.

An underwater ignition device is provided comprising a rotor, a detonator disposed at the rotor, a locking pin secured in position by a safety pin, a release pin maintained in position by the locking pin, a first water pressure safety device normally engaging the rotor and preventing a rotating motion of the rotor into an ignition position and a second water pressure safety device actuable after the locking pin is removed and after the first water pressure safety device has been actuated and capable of actuating the release pin for rotating the rotor into an ignition position. An ignition circuit employed comprises a digital logic connected to an analog receiver, dual driver stages connected to the digital logic, parallel discharge circuits connected to the dual driver stages and to a detonator and the voltage supply and suitable for selectively igniting the detonator or for short circuiting the voltage supply. The digital logic actuates two discharge circuits in successive time intervals (t.sub.1, t.sub.2, t.sub.3) depending on two frequency and time correlated input signals.
