A sensor arrangement including at least one electro-optical sensor which is secured to a receiving structure of a sensor holder. The electro-optical sensor includes a sensor housing with an optically active sensor layer that is arranged thereon. The optically active sensor layer forms a light-sensitive plane. The sensor holder includes a non-adjustable receiving structure which compensates for a previously determined deviation in shape of the electro-optical sensor from a desired shape.

Sensor arrangement

A system that facilitates collecting data is described herein. The system includes a digital camera that is configured to capture images in a visible light spectrum and a near-infrared camera that is configured to capture near infrared images, wherein a field of view of the digital camera and the field of view of the near-infrared camera are substantially similar. The system further includes a trigger component that is configured to cause the digital camera and the near-infrared camera to capture images at a substantially similar point in time, and also includes a mounting mechanism that facilitates mounting the digital camera and the near-infrared camera to an automobile.

A large format digital camera has a primary camera system configured for collecting panchromatic image data and two or more secondary camera systems configured for collecting color image data. Each of the secondary camera systems has an optical system that has a longer focal length than the optical system of the primary camera system. The resolution of each of the secondary camera systems is also greater than the resolution of the primary camera system. The footprint of images produced by the primary camera system is larger in size than the footprint of images produced by the secondary camera systems. Images produced by the primary camera system offer information for performing image-based georeferencing by means of photogrammetric triangulation. Images produced by the secondary camera systems offer a high-resolution narrow angle color image suitable for use in ortho image production.

The secondary image data is collected utilizing one or more secondary optical systems having at least one electro-optical detector array (e.g., a CCD array) and a specific set of optical mirrors or optical prisms, arranged in such a way that the secondary optical systems extend the angular field-of-view of the primary optical system and the resultant digital image in at least two opposing directions, for instance, in the left and right and/or fore and aft directions. The primary image data and the secondary image data may be distinct and/or may include portions that overlap with one another. Further, the primary image data and the secondary image data may be collected at the same or different resolutions. The collected primary image data and secondary image data are utilized to generate a single output image.

Enhancing digital images using secondary optical systems

Apparatuses and methods for enhancing a 'primary' large format, digital, macro-image with 'secondary' image data are provided. The secondary image data is collected utilizing one or more secondary optical systems having at least one electro-optical detector array (e.g., a CCD array) and a specific set of optical mirrors or optical prisms, arranged in such a way that the secondary optical systems extend the angular angle-of-view of the primary optical system and the resultant digital image in at least two opposing directions, for instance, in the left and right and/or fore and aft directions. The primary image data and the secondary image data may be distinct and/or may include portions that overlap with one another. Further, the primary image data and the secondary image data may be collected at the same or different resolutions. The collected primary image data and secondary image data are utilized to generate a single output image.

Large format, digital camera systems () expose single detector arrayswith multiple lens systems () or multiple detector arrays () with one or more single lens systems () to acquire sub-images of overlapping sub-areas of large area objects. The sub-images are stitched together to form a large format, digital, macro-image (&#x2033;), which can be colored. Dampened camera carrier () and accelerometer () signals with double-rate digital signal processing () are used.

Self-calibrating, digital, large format camera with single or multiple detector arrays and single or multiple optical systems

A system for scanning and digitizing large images using an optional reseau for accuracy without obscuring the image to be scanned. The system uses at least one CCD photoreceptor array which is fixed in a rigid position with respect to any accompany lenses and mirrors. In one embodiment, a first CCD photoreceptor array is used to scan the image while a second CCD photoreceptor array simultaneously scans the reseau. In a second embodiment, a single CCD photoreceptor array is used to first scan the reseau and then to scan the image. One illumination source illuminates the reseau while second illumination source illuminates the image. The arrangement of the lens(es) and the photoreceptor arrays allows the determination of any displacement of the scanner along the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis, as well as the determination of any rotation of the scanner around the X-axis, Y-axis, or Z-axis. The position and attitude of the scanner, as determined by scanning the reseau, is used to correct any errors in the resulting image that are caused by displacement or rotation of the scanner. A large image can be scanned in separate but overlapping swaths, the overlap being used to align the swaths to create a final seamless digital image from the assembled swaths.

The system uses two separate CCD photoreceptor arrays which are fixed in a rigid position with respect to each other and any accompany lenses and mirrors. In one embodiment, a first CCD photoreceptor array is used to scan the image while the second CCD photoreceptor array simultaneously scans the reseau. In a second embodiment, a single CCD photoreceptor array is used to first scan the reseau and then to scan the image. One illumination source illuminates the reseau while second illumination source illuminates the image.
