An image of a surrounding area is projected onto a detector of a detector device by way of an optical system that produces an imaging beam path. A screen is disposed in the imaging beam path and the screen shadows a subarea of the image of the surrounding area on the detector. In order to allow an object which is dazzling the detector device to be masked out and nevertheless to allow the surrounding area to be monitored, the screen is subdivided into a plurality of segments which can be operated individually, and segments which are associated with the subarea are selected and operated, and are in this way heated. The transmission of the selected segments is reduced by the heating throughout the frequency range in which the detector is sensitive, and the selected segments of the screen thus shadow the subarea of the image.

Method and apparatus for imaging a surrounding area onto a detector device

A guided missile has a sensor unit, a propulsion unit, and a payload unit. A missile casing forms the outer contour, extends along a longitudinal direction, and accommodates the sensor unit, the propulsion unit, and the payload unit. At least two of the units can be fitted alongside one another in the longitudinal direction. In comparison to conventional guided missiles, the guided missile is distinguished by increased modularity and thus by increased flexibility with regard to different operational scenarios.

A wide-angle optical system () having an objective () and a mirror system, including a curved mirror () for projecting a wide-angle image through the objective () onto a detector (). At least one mirror () of the mirror system is arranged movably relative to the objective (). It is possible to achieve a zoom function, a large elevation range and a selection of an enlarged section from the wide-angle image.

Wide-angle optical system

An apparatus for and a method of detecting a flight obstacle () in the surroundings () of an aircraft (), in particular for collision warning purposes, wherein images of the surroundings () are recorded, the flight obstacle () is detected from the images and provided with an identification, and a signal () associated with the identification is outputted in a ground station (). In order to guarantee a high level of certainty in respect to the control of the aircraft () which is effected automatically or by a ground control pilot it is proposed that detection and allocation of the identification are effected on board the aircraft () and the identification is sent to the ground station ().

Method and apparatus for detecting a flight obstacle

A device for detecting attacking guided missiles with optical seeker head and for generating a laser beam directed to such guided missile has an all-around seeker with a detector responding to thermal radiation from the guided missile, and a laser which points to the guided missile detected by the all-around seeker. A roll and pitch gimbal system is provided. A roll gimbal is rotatable relative to the structure about a roll axis. A pitch gimbal is rotatable relative to the roll gimbal about a pitch axis orthogonal to the roll axis. The detector is structure-fixed. An imaging optical system is mounted on the roll and pitch gimbal system. The optical system with its optical axis can point to an object scenario. With each position of the gimbal system, an image of this object scenario is generated on the detector. The laser is also structure-fixed. A laser reflecting surface system is provided on the gimbal system, by means of which the laser beam is kept parallel to the optical axis of the imaging optical system, with each position of the gimbal system. Both the path of rays of the imaging optical system and the laser beam comprise a respective section extending along the pitch axis and a section extending along the roll axis.

Optical assembly with a detector and a laser

An infrared seeker head for target tracking missiles has a main detector and an imaging optical system generating an image of a field of view on the main detector. The field of view contains a target such as an enemy aircraft. The missile is guided to the target in accordance with signals from the main detector. The target, if attacked by the missile, emits high-intensity laser radiation towards the missile as a counter-measure. This is to disturb the operation of the seeker head by dazzling or even destroying the main detector. The seeker head contains a device for defending against such disturbances. Various types of such defending devices are described. Incident light is deviated from the main detector. A second-quadrant-detector of reduced sensitivity guides the missile along the disturbing laser beam. Another embodiment uses attenuating optical elements in front of the main detector under the control of one or more second detectors.

A micro-optical beam deflection system, operable to be moved between discrete states with a pair of micro-optical lens grids arranged behind each other in the path of rays, and which can be mutually displaced transverse to the direction of beams, in which the lens grids are arranged substantially in the image plane of an intermediate image.

Apparatus for measuring the color of glass, particularly pieces of broken glass relies upon simultaneously measuring the glass transmission in different spectral regions. The glass pieces travel along a conveying path between a light source and a light sensor containing a plural number of optical filters and groups of photoelectric detectors. The groups of photoelectric detectors are disposed at an end face of respective substantially cylindrical tubes. Tube axes enclose an angle and intersect in a conveying plane defined by the conveying path. The optical filters have different spectral transmission regions. Optical lens systems are retained intermediate the respective groups of photoelectric detectors and an opposite end face of the respective tubes. Each optical lens system images the conveying plane at the associated group of photoelectric detectors.

Glass color sensor unit

In a sensor assembly, a cooled sensor is arranged in the vacuum chamber of a Dewar vessel. The Dewar vessel has an inner housing element and an outer housing element. Both housing elements are made of metal and are pot-shaped. The outer housing element extends around the inner housing element. The two housing elements define the vacuum chamber of the Dewar vessel. The inner housing element carries the sensor on its end face within the vacuum chamber. A cooler is arranged in the cavity formed by the inner housing element. A tubular support body made of multi-layer glass-ceramic material is arranged in the vacuum chamber and surrounds the inner housing element. The support body supports the inner housing element through radial projections and contains conductors for connecting the sensor.
