A yielding fuse for use in a brace assembly includes a first body portion configured to be connected at one end to a side of a brace member of the brace assembly, and a second body portion configured to be connected at one end to another side of the brace member of the brace assembly. The first and second body portions are positioned so as to be disposed on opposite sides of an axis defined by the brace member, with each of the first and second body portions further including a base displaced from the axis, a plurality of yielding arms extending from the base towards the axis and at least a first connecting plate rigidly connecting the first body portion to the second body portion. Preferably, a second connecting plate is also provided.

Structural yielding fuse

The present invention provides a surgical manipulator including a manipulator arm, an end-effector held by the robotic arm, surgical tools held by the end-effector and manipulator joints, particularly right-angle drive devices for transmitting rotational motion in one axis to a perpendicular axis.

Surgical manipulator

A yielding fuse device is provided for use in association with a brace member in a bracing assembly for a structural frame. The device includes arms or elements that yield flexurally when a bracing member moves in an axial direction, with the bracing assembly under either tension or compression loading conditions. The device of the present invention is particularly useful as a mass customized cast device. The device is well suited for seismic bracing applications.

Cast structural yielding fuse

Porcine tissues were screened for the presence of Adeno-Associated Viruses (AAV). Several AAV sequences were isolated from various porcine tissues, and BLAST analysis confirmed high to low homology with known AAV sequences of different origin. Sequence analysis confirmed the isolation of at least three novel porcine AAV isolates which we named AAVpo1, -po2, and -po3. Novel AAVs derived from porcine tissues may significantly contribute to the generation of new preventive or curative clinical modalities acceptable for human use.
