A safety device for a single-use mixing or storage system (), especially for use in a biopharmaceutical process, includes a flexible bag () made from a film material and a support structure () receiving and supporting the bag () in several directions. The support structure () allows an expansion of the bag () in an expansion direction. The safety device further includes a detection unit () adapted to detect an expansion of the bag () in the expansion direction, and a control unit () connected to the detection unit () and adapted to initiate a safety measure in response to the expansion of the bag () in the expansion direction that exceeds a given threshold.

A housing having a housing body () carries on the outside of one of the side walls () a bolt () aligned parallel to the lid guide grooves () and the lid () carries a sleeve () fixed to a tab () projecting over the upper edge of the corresponding side wall () of the housing body () and aligned coaxially with the bolt (). The sleeve () engages around the bolt () to form an axially and rotationally movable sliding bearing.

A pinch valve having a clamping member () mounted between two side walls () of a valve housing, the side walls extending parallel to a hose guide axis and to a plunger guide axis. Each of the side walls has a step () extending parallel to the hose guide axis and recessing with respect to the advancing direction of the plunger. The clamping jaws () of the pinch valve, upon displacement of the clamping member (), move over the steps () with their outer sides, which face away from the hose guide, bearing against the side walls ().

A container has an outflow arranged in the vicinity of the bottom and a vortex breaker mounted upstream from the outflow for preventing foaming. The vortex breaker has a vertical main wall and two vertical side wings oriented away from one another to define a T-shape. The main wall merges into a fixing arm. A method also is provided for producing the vortex breaker. The method includes a) cutting a flat plate to define a main wall, two side wings, and a fixing arm connected to the main wall; and b) folding out the side wings in opposing directions in each case into a final position arranged transverse to the main wall. The vortex breaker is applicable in chemistry, biotechnology, and filtration technology.
