A process including (a) directing a hydrocarbon mixture to contact a material catalytically active in hydrocracking under hydrocracking conditions, (b) providing a first hydrocracked product, (c) directing an amount of the first hydrocracked product and an amount of a converted hydrocracked product to a product separation step separating it into one or more products and a recycle oil having a higher boiling point than the products, (d) directing the recycle oil to contact a second material catalytically active in hydrocracking under hydrocracking conditions providing a second hydrocracked product, (e) directing at least an amount of the second hydrocracked product as feed to a second separation step, separating the second hydrocracked product in at least two fractions, a converted hydrocracked product and an unconverted oil an unconverted oil having a higher average boiling point than the recycle oil, (f) withdrawing at least an amount of the unconverted oil as purge.

High conversion hydrocracking process

A hydrocracking process by the steps of: (a) providing a mixture comprising hydrocarbonaceous feedstock and hydrogen; (b) obtaining a hydrocracked effluent; (c) separating the hydrocracked effluent into a first vapor portion and a first liquid portion; (d) heating the first liquid portion to form a vapourised first liquid portion; (e) feeding the vaporised first liquid portion to a fractionation section producing individual product fractions including a heavy bottom fraction; (f) withdrawing from the fractionation section the heavy bottom fraction; (g) splitting the heavy bottom fraction in a stream for stripping and a heavy bottom fraction recycle stream; (h) stripping the stream for stripping, with a stripping medium, in a counter current stripping column to form an overhead vapor and a stripped liquid; (i) feeding the overhead vapor to the fractionation section, to a recycle stream or to a position upstream the fractionation section.

Partial conversion hydrocracking process comprising the steps of (a) hydrotreating a hydrocarbon feedstock with a hydrogenrich gas to produce a hydrotreated effluent stream comprising a liquid/vapor mixture and separating the liquid/vapor mixture into a liquid phase and a vapor phase, and (b) separating the liquid phase into a controlled liquid portion and an excess liquid portion, and (c) combining the vapor phase with the excess liquid portion to form a vapor plus liquid portion, and (d) separating an FCC feed-containing fraction from the controlled liquid portion and simultaneously hydrocracking the vapor plus liquid portion to produce a dieselcontaining fraction, or hydrocracking the controlled liquid portion to produce a diesel-containing fraction and simultaneously separating a FCC feed-containing fraction from the vapor plus liquid portion. A two-stage hydrotreating process is disclosed wherein a hydrocarbon stream is first desulphurized followed by a dehydrogenation step, which process comprises in combination contacting the feed and hydrogen over a hydrotreating catalyst at hydrotreating conditions, heating the hydrotreated effluent and hydrogen-rich gas from the hydrotreating reactor and contacting said effluent and hydrogen gas over a hydrotreating catalyst in a post-treatment reactor at a temperature sufficient to increase the polyaromatic hydrocarbon content and lower the hydrogen content of said effluent.
