A remote-operable firing pin safety catch is provided. A mechanical firing pin safety catch is supplemented by a further electrically remote-operable safety catch device, wherein it is basically the case that firing is possible only when the safety catch of a firing pin has been both locally mechanically released and also electrically released by means of a remote controller. As an electrical firing pin safety catch, an electric actuator is incorporated into the mechanical firing pin safety catch.

Digital data acquired from individual cameras and images converted to digitized images are projected onto virtual 3D screens, which can be generated by a computer. This can be realized by way of 3D-accelerated hardware. The images are not, however, projected in 3D. The virtual 3D scenario with the current camera images is projected and presented to the users in 2D. This process makes it possible to use simple cameras () with single lenses. There is no need to use cameras with zoom technology.

The characteristic of one or more of the gas springs themselves used in a revolver cannon or breech cannon is adjusted while the system is in operation. This is done by a separate, self-contained system, which can adjust the gas spring from hard to soft, for example, and back to harder/hard and can thus adjust the characteristic of the gas spring without the loss of gas. In the simplest embodiment, this system has two additional elements, preferably a reserve tank and a connecting line that connects the reserve tank to the gas spring via a valve.

An automatic clutch is integrated in a weapon system between an ammunition feed system and a cannon. A feeder feeds ammunition into the cannon. The clutch mechanism includes an actuator, a locking pin with an assisting spring or the like, and locking cams. The clutch mechanism allows the drum shaft of the cannon to be disengaged from the gear of the feeder between the cannon and the ammunition supply system and thus from the conveyance mechanism of the feeder.

A method and device for cooling a gun barrel wherein coolant is provided to the gun barrel via a nozzle arranged at the downstream end of a pressure feed line arrangement. The coolant is originally conveyed from a reservoir into a pressure cylinder, while the pressure feed line between the pressure cylinder and the nozzle is closed. Thereafter, the coolant in the pressure cylinder is placed under a predefined operating pressure. Prior to firing a round, the pressure feed line is opened, so that the coolant flows to the gun barrel before firing. When firing a shot, the coolant in the gun barrel is compressed to a pressure above the predetermined operating pressure by the firing gases and pushed out of the gun barrel. In the process, the coolant is expanded into a buffer reservoir adjacent to the nozzle and is injected back into the gun barrel after the gas pressure built up has been reduced to the predetermined operating pressure.

Method and device for cooling gun barrels of firearms

The invention relates to a method and a device for the correction of dynamic gun errors. Dynamic gun errors are caused by the movement of a gun tube muzzle area ( ) of a gun ( ) in the course of continuous firing. To correct these errors, a measurement of the movement of a gun tube muzzle area ( ) of a gun ( ) is performed during continuous firing for obtaining measured signals. The measured signals are used for correcting the azimuth and elevation of the gun tube ( ) in order to compensate the movement of a gun tube muzzle area ( ).

Method for correcting dynamic gun errors

The service life of gun barrels of firearms with a high cyclic rate can be extended by means of the cooling device of the invention. To this end, coolant (,) is conveyed from a reservoir (,) into a pressure cylinder (,) by drawing up a hydraulic cylinder (,), while the feed line (,) to the gun barrel is closed. Thereafter the hydraulic piston (,) is moved in the opposite direction by a pressure reversal and the coolant (,) in the pressure cylinder (,) is placed under a defined operating pressure. Prior to triggering a volley, the feed line (,) is opened, so that the coolant (,) can flow via the feed line (,) and the nozzle (,) to the gun barrel (,). The coolant (,) is pushed back by the gas pressure respectively being created when a shot is fired, and following the lowering of the gas pressure to the operating pressure, it is again injected into the gun barrel (,).

In connection with a projectile, the effective substance (4) is designed as a projectile core (3), which is held in place by a propulsion reflector sheath (1) and a propulsion reflector back (2). The data reception coil (13) and the power supply (14) are arranged in the propulsion reflection back (2), while the remaining elements (9, 10, 11, 12) of the programmable time fuse (8) are installed in the projectile core (3, 25). Predetermined breaking points are provided in the propulsion reflector sheath (1) and the propulsion reflector back (2), so that following the firing of the projectile, the propulsion reflector sheath (1) and the propulsion reflector back (2) with the data reception coil (13) and the power supply (14) are separated, and only the projectile core (3) with the remaining elements (9, 10, 11, 12) of the programmable time fuse (8) alone continue to travel.
