A steering mechanism for simulating a haptic feedback steering sensation includes a steering shaft connected to a steering wheel. An angle measuring device is arranged on the steering shaft and measures a rotation angle that is prevailing at the steering wheel the steering mechanism further includes an electric motor arranged in a coaxial manner with respect to the steering shaft. The electric motor is configured to apply a torque to the steering shaft. The direction of rotation of the torque applied by the electric motor is usually oriented in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the rotation angle that is prevailing at the steering wheel. Furthermore, the magnitude of the torque is dependent upon the value of the rotation angle and upon the vehicle model that is used as a basis. The electric motor is connected to the steering shaft via a torsionally elastic coupling.

Steering mechanism with haptic feedback

A power assist device for supporting steering of a motor vehicle includes a steering column shaft and a housing. The shaft has a rotor and the housing has a stator. The stator is arranged in the radial direction with respect to the rotor. The rotor is a disk, and at least one magnet is arranged on the radially outer edge of said rotor.

Steering assist apparatus for a motor vehicle

A gear unit for a motor vehicle including a rotatable worm gear shaft rotating about a rotation axis and cooperating with a worm gear wheel in an engagement region spaced from the rotation axis. A pivotable rotary bearing mounts the worm gear shaft on a housing on one side of the engagement region and a loose rotary bearing, pretensioned in the direction of the spacing axis, mounts the other side in the housing. A support device supports the pivotable rotary bearing on the housing in the direction of the rotation axis. To optimize engagement between a worm gear shaft and a worm gear wheel, the pivotable rotary bearing pivots relative to the housing about a pivot axis perpendicular to the rotation axis and to the spacing axis. A support point of the support device is offset relative to the rotation axis along the spacing axis towards the engagement region.

Gear unit for motor vehicle

A worm gear has a worm wheel, a drive shaft, and a flexible shaft. The worm wheel meshes with a worm shaft, which is driven by the drive shaft. The flexible shaft can be arranged in the drive shaft with a radial gap between at least a portion of the flexible shaft and the drive shaft. The flexible shaft can be coupled to the drive shaft such that a first spring constant is provided for displacement of the flexible shaft in a radial direction within a first range and a second spring constant is provided for displacement of the flexible shaft in the radial direction within a second range.

Worm gear

An electric power assisted steering system for vehicles is disclosed. The system includes an electric motor drive having a motor housing, a motor shaft, and at least a first bearing and a second bearing for mounting the motor shaft. At least one bearing plate receives one of the first and second bearings and the other of the first and second bearings is fixed in place on the motor housing in a radial direction. The system further includes a worm gear shaft operably connected to the motor shaft so as to be driven by the motor shaft, a worm gear wheel received in a transmission housing, the worm gear shaft meshing with the worm gear wheel, and at least one elastic element elastically coupling the at least one bearing plate to the motor housing such that the motor housing can tilt with respect to the at least one bearing plate.

Electric power assisted steering system for vehicles

A securing arrangement for a steering gear housing is provided. The securing arrangement includes at least one steering gear securing portion formed on the steering gear housing and at least one bodywork securing portion formed on a bodywork component of a vehicle. Each steering gear securing portion has a steering gear bearing surface and each bodywork securing portion has a bodywork bearing surface configured to support a respective steering gear bearing surface so as to form a respective pair of bearing surfaces when the steering gear housing is arranged on the bodywork component. Each pair of bearing surfaces includes a convex bearing surface and a substantially planar bearing surface.

Securing arrangement for a steering gear housing

A silent block comprises a first basic element and a rubber body at least partially surrounding the first basic element. The rubber body has, on its bearing side oriented toward a fastening side, at least one projection that projects beyond the bearing side in a direction of the fastening side.
