A locking system for providing authorization to access and drive a motor vehicle has a first control device for unlocking and locking the car doors, the ignition lock, the steering wheel lock, etc. Additionally, the locking system has a second device, which is an electronic key or an identifier. The two devices have transmission means and/or receiving means for electromagnetic signals with frequencies &#x3bd; lying in a frequency band between two cut-off frequencies &#x3bd;a, &#x3bd;b. At least one of the signals, transmitted between the devices, is a coded operating signal for authenticating the second device. The actual frequency &#x3bd;i with which the transmission means of the second device is operated is stored in a storage means of the first device.

Locking system, in particular for a motor vehicle

A driver authorization system for a vehicle includes an on-board identification device for communicating with a mobile release device to verify usage authorization, an ignition lock, ignition key, and a control unit for activating ignition lock functions (such as starting and switching off the engine) when the ignition key is brought into a corresponding position in the ignition lock. The ignition lock functions can be activated by means of the control unit using a pushbutton (), that can be mounted in, actuated while mounted, and removed from the ignition lock.

Driver authorization system

The invention relates to an electronic lock for a locking system, in particular an electronic ignition lock for a motor vehicle. The lock has a holder into which an associated electronic key can be introduced. The key, which is in the holder, exchanges at least one coded operating signal with the lock. After positively evaluating the operating signal, the holder can be moved into at least one actuating position. The lock has a blocking element which adjusts on introduction of the key into the holder and/or removal of the key from the holder. Movement of the holder is possible when the key is correctly in the holder. Furthermore, the lock has a switching element on which the adjusting movement of the blocking element exerts a switching action via a separate transmitter which can be brought into operative connection both with the blocking element and with the switching element.

Locking system, especially for motor vehicles

A system for automatic access or driving authorization for a motor vehicle includes a first device in the form of a control device having at least two states for engaging and disengaging vehicle door locks, an immobilizer, or the like. An associated second device is provided in the form of an electronic key, an ID transmitter, a chip card or the like. Both devices have means for transmitting or receiving signals, including a coded operating signal for authenticating the second device, so that a change in the state of the first device can be implemented when the second device is authorized. Before the second device is first activated, it is in a sleep state in which operation-independent function is not permitted and energy consumption is reduced. During a first operator-dependent authentication, the second device is changed over from the sleep state into a standby state in which an operation-independent function is at least partially made possible.

Locking system for a motor vehicle

An electronic starter and steering locking device for a motor vehicle has a steering locking unit including a locking control unit that operates an actuating unit for locking and unlocking a vehicle steering element; a vehicle starter unit for starting and shutting off the motor vehicle; and a voltage supply. The locking control unit is permanently connected to the voltage supply independently of the driving state of the vehicle, while the locking actuating unit is connected to the voltage supply via interrupter switching means which can be switched over as a function of the operating state of the vehicle starter unit and/or of the switched position of a drive train transmission shift lever.

Component replacement warning system

An electronic closure system has one or more lockable and unlockable closure units, each arranged on an opening element of an object to be secured, at least one authorizing authentication element and a closure control unit with at least one authentication element identification sensor. The at least one authentication element identification sensor has a predetermined detection area, which covers an external detection zone outside the object. The closure control unit produces different closure control commands, related to locking and/or unlocking, based on whether and in what external detection zone authorizing authentication element is detected. The closure control unit contains a sensor system for determining the range of an identified authentication element from the object and, on identification of an authorizing authentication element, automatically produces different closure control commands for the respective closure unit, as a function of the range between the identified authentication element and the object.

Electronic closure system, in particular a vehicle closure system

A vehicle locking system has a locking unit for a movable vehicle part (particularly a trunk lid) which can be moved between an opened and a locked position and which, in the opened position, provides access to an adjoining vehicle interior area and blocks such access in the locked position. When an authentication element is used which can be carried along on the user side, the locking unit, is reversible between an unlocked state, in which it releases the opening of the movable vehicle part, and a locked state in which it prevents the opening of the movable vehicle part. Authentication element detection devices determine whether an authentication element is situated in the vehicle interior area, and, if so, control the locking unit into its unlocked condition and/or generate a corresponding indicating signal.

Vehicle locking system

An electronic safety system, particularly a vehicle locking system, has several safety units arranged on an object to be secured, at least one authorizing authentication element, and safety control devices with several object-side authentication element detection sensors. Signal sending devices emit a query data signal in a pertaining acquisition range, which can be received by an authentication element situated in the corresponding acquisition range. The authentication element has devices for returning an authentication response signal. According to the invention, the query data signals emitted by the detection sensors contain a sensor-specifically coded data protocol range, and the authentication element has devices for analyzing the sensor-specifically coded data protocol range of received query data signals and for generating an authentication response signal which contains a sensor-indicative data protocol range which is coded with the information as to from which detection sensors the authentication element has received a query data signal.

Electronic safety system having an authentication element range determination, particularly a vehicle locking system

An electronic ignition starter switch and steering wheel locking apparatus for a motor vehicle which includes a steering wheel locking unit for locking and unlocking a vehicle steering element, an ignition starter switch unit for switching an engine ignition on and off and for starting the vehicle engine, and a coupling device. The apparatus ensures that the steering wheel locking unit is in its unlocked state during starting of the engine. The coupling device contain state interrogation and starting blocking circuits, which interrogate the locking state of the steering wheel locking unit and allow the engine to be started only when the steering wheel locking unit is in its unlocked state.

Electronic ignition starter switch and steering wheel locking apparatus

An ignition lock system for a motor vehicle includes an electronic ignition key and an electronic ignition lock having a key receptacle. The electronic ignition key can be inserted into the key receptacle to exchange coded operating signals, the key receptacle, together with the inserted electronic ignition key, being movable out of an initial position into at least one operating position. A mechanical blocking device is provided in the key receptacle, which blocks the electronic ignition key against withdrawal from the key receptacle in the operating position. The mechanical blocking device cooperates with the electronic ignition key in such a way that the electronic ignition key and/or the key receptacle is irreversibly damaged when blocking actions of the mechanical blocking device are forcibly overcome.

Ignition lock system for motor vehicles

A vehicle security system has an access monitoring device which includes an access control part and/or an electronic immobilizing device which comprises an immobilizer control part, located on the vehicle. An authentication device can be carried by the user for actuation, subject to authentication, of the respective control part on the vehicle via an associated wireless actuation communication channel. Both an actuation communication channel which needs a key, and a wireless actuation communication channel which needs no key (and communicates based on proximity, without manual actuation) are provided for actuating a control part on the vehicle, optionally via one or the other actuation communication channel. The actuation communication channel which requires a key is given priority over the corresponding actuation communication channel which needs no key.

Vehicle security system with active and passage remote actuation

An immobilizing device for a motor vehicle includes an immobilizer control unit on the vehicle, one or more authentication elements which can be carried by the user, and an actuation communication channel for immobilizer actuation communications which require authentication, between the authentication element and the immobilizer control unit. The immobilizer control unit allows driving operation and/or engine starting only if the driving authorization check is positive. According to the invention, an immobilizer operating element arranged on the vehicle can be operated without any manipulation of an authentication element, for user-requested initiation of the immobilizer actuation communication processes which require authentication. Alternatively or additionally, the brake pedal can be used as an operating element for activating engine starting, once it has been enabled by the immobilizer control unit.

Immobilizing device for a motor vehicle

A light switching device for a motor vehicle, in which a switching component, capable of more than one switching position, for switching on and off a plurality of lamps of the operating illumination of a motor vehicle, a indicator for illuminating functions and an electrical plug-in connection device are integrated, are insertable in one piece into the dashboard or the instrument panel of the motor vehicle. The device integrates the operating illumination control, the circuit fuses appertaining to the operating illumination and the circuit monitoring, such that the fuses are easily accessible at the level of the actuating handle of the at least one switching component for the illumination control. The device has a patchboard for exchangeable fuses, and at least one integrated semiconductor circuit, monitoring current paths for current flows, for realizing at least one checking and/or warning function.
