A versatile label holder adapted to be stably secured in C-channels of various widths such as are found in Lozier, Madix and Streater shelves without significantly modifying the angle normally presented with each of these shelves. The label holder includes a rearwardly extending leg adapted to be captured by the lower lip of the C-channel, a portion of which is resilient and arcuate, extending first upwardly and then downwardly to provide a spring-like element, the effective length of which can vary depending on the spacing between the lips of the C-channel.

Label holders adapted to be mounted on a supporting surface formed of a grid of wire rods, such as a wire basket, a wire rack, a wire shelf or the like. The label holder includes a planar backing element supporting the label holder portion for viewing at a preselected angle, with a trapezoidal connector formed in the backing element to snappingly engage over a horizontally extending wire rod of the grid. The trapezoidal connector may include a plurality of flexible bumps or ridges for enhanced gripping of the wire rods of the grid. The remainder of the backing element rests against the vertically extending wire rods of the grid.

An electronic shelf label holder for mounting to both scanner plates and wire merchandise supports, such as wire racks or baskets, that are used in connection with retail merchandising. The label holder includes a holding portion for holding an ESL and a mounting portion that can be utilized for mounting to both scanner plates and wire racks. When mounted to scanner plates, the label holder can be oriented in different directions.

A merchandising shelf label holder, particularly for holding or carrying an electronic shelf label (ESL), with an integral protective mechanism, including a bumper to withstand impacts from shopping carts and the like. The bumper includes a substantially semicircular bulbous section extending in a direction away from the shelving and further away from the shelving than the ESL and that curves back toward the shelving with a vertical plate that is in contact with the shelving or extension thereof. The protective mechanism also includes a rear support stop member that engages the label holder when impacted.

An electronic shelf label (ESL) holder, including an attachment member portion to be secured to a supporting surface, such as a C-channel, a holder member with protrusions for removably receiving and supporting the ESLs and, optionally, a cover member pivotally carried by the holder member to overly and protect the ESLs. The holder member includes a lip extending from at least one of the top or bottom fingers of the holder formed of flexible PVC material that is flexible relative to the remaining portion of the holder and is compressible for providing a tight fit of the ESL to the holder. The flexible lip is utilized in combination with a backing member which, in one embodiment, is a flexible PVC bead that extends along the length of the holder and, in a second embodiment, includes a relatively broad or wide pad of flexible PVC material that further provides a seal against the battery or other electronics of the ESL.

An elongated, forwardly extending product information tag preferably die-cut from a thin sheet of plastics material to provide an integral proximal mounting portion, an elongated intermediate portion and a distal display portion, wherein the display portion includes a die-cut area defining, in one embodiment, a pair of spaced lower flexible tabs for engagement under the spring clips on the back of a standard ESL, and an upper elongated flexible flap for engagement over the top of the back of the ESL into the standard slotted area provided therein. In a second embodiment, the display portion includes a die-cut area of rectangular configuration.

An attachment structure for a label holder for removably securing the label holder to a supporting surface of a shelf or case. The attachment structure includes a J-strip member fixedly secured to the supporting surface to define a channel for receiving a locking strip that is integral with the label holder. The J-strip includes a flexible bead that engages the upper planar surface of the locking strip and includes an elongated slot that receives a flexible bead integral with the locking strip. The flexible bead of the locking strip engages the elongated slot within the J-strip to secure the locking strip, and its integral label holder, within the J-strip.

A label holder is hingedly connected to a clip portion grippingly engaged over a transversely extending rod at the distal end of a merchandise aid, such as a scanner hook or the like, or over a plate on the end of a scanner hook enabling the label holder to be moved forwardly to access or position product on the scanner hook, or, in some applications, rearwardly in the event of impact from a passerby. By selecting the properties of the hinge section, the label holder can be temporarily fixed in a selected angular relationship when the scanner hook extends above or below the eye of a viewer to facilitate reading information on labels carried thereby.

Electronic shelf label (ESL) carriers including an attachment member to be secured to a supporting surface such as a C-channel, a holder member with tabs for removably receiving and supporting the ESLs, and a cover member pivotally carried by the top or the bottom of the holder member to overly and protect the ESLs. The attachment member and the holder member include interengageable complementary adjustment elements to enable the ESLs to be displayed at a zero angle or a positive or negative angular orientation relative to the supporting surface. In one embodiment, the attachment member has a pair of forwardly extending legs each of which include a pair of spaced cavities, with the holder member including upper and lower elements with complementary protrusions which can be selectively engaged in the cavities to adjust the viewing angle. Other embodiments include a plurality of spaced T-shaped protrusions on an arcuate portion or a portion with a central section and angularly offset wings of the attachment member, the stems of the T-shaped protrusions being flexible to enable the cross-bars to be selectively engaged in complementary cavities defined on the holder member.

Label holder for electronic labeling devices

A label holder for use in a moist environment including a body panel connected at its lower edge by a resilient hinge to a transparent cover member to form an openable pocket for labels therebetween. The body panel is secured to a supporting surface by adhesive or may include an attachment panel connected to the rear of the body panel by a resilient spacer so that the attachment panel can be flexed for engagement in a C-channel. A downwardly and forwardly extending lip is formed on the top edge of the body panel and the top edge of the cover member is secured thereunder in the closed position of the cover member. A downwardly and forwardly extending ledge member is formed on the top edge of the cover member and extends beyond the lip member to a freely extending edge to dissipate moisture forming on the lip member. The mating side edges of the body panel may be sealed with strips of a resilient material to limit moisture from entering the label-receiving pocket. Alternatively, the entire front face of the body panel may be covered with a resilient material or the body panel itself may be formed of a resilient material to seal the edges.
