A debris collection device with a self cleaning retention system that is designed for powered tools such as a sander. One embodiment of the system has an inflatable collection bag and a bag retention system, which further includes an integral bag adapter nozzle for retaining the collection bag to the debris exhaust of a tool such as a sander. For one embodiment of the debris collection device, the retention system can also has a tube, pipe or bracket which connects the adapter to powered tool such as a sander.

A chemical foaming system for use in a floor cleaning machine has a foam generator and a delivery system upstream of the foam generator in communication with a source of pressurized fluid and a source of liquid cleaning solution. The delivery system delivers pressurized fluid and liquid cleaning solution to the foam generator. A dispensing system is disposed downstream of the foam generator for dispensing foam generated by the foam generator onto the floor being cleaned. The foam generator has a pair of independent foaming chambers in generally parallel flow relationship intermediate the delivery system and the dispensing system whereby a portion of pressurized fluid and liquid cleaning solution delivered to the foam generator by the delivery system flows into one of the foaming chambers. The remaining portion of the pressurized fluid and liquid cleaning solution delivered to the foam generator flows into the other foaming chamber. Each foaming chamber is adapted for generating a foam therein for dispensing onto the floor by the dispensing system.

An extraction machine of this invention comprises a main housing. A vacuum pump in the main housing operates to create a vacuum to extract liquid from the surface. A motor in the main housing drives the vacuum pump, the vacuum pump having an exhaust. An exhaust duct conducts exhaust air from the exhaust of the vacuum pump to an opening in the main housing for exhaust to the environment. A constriction in the exhaust duct reduces the pressure of exhaust air flowing through the exhaust duct from a first pressure upstream from the constriction to a second lower pressure in a low pressure zone adjacent the constriction. A compartment has an inlet for entry of ambient air into the compartment and an outlet for exit of air from the compartment. A second motor is located within the compartment. A cooling duct has an inlet communicating with the outlet of the compartment and an outlet communicating with the low pressure zone in the exhaust duct. The second lower pressure of the exhaust air in the low pressure zone is less than ambient pressure thereby to cause a flow of cooling ambient air into the compartment, through the compartment and into the cooling duct, and then into the exhaust duct for exhaust out of the main housing.

Liquid extraction machine

This invention is directed to a floor sander comprising a frame on wheels, a chassis carried by the frame, and a motor-driven sanding head mounted on the chassis generally adjacent the front of the chassis for rotation about an axis extending in side-to-side direction with respect to the chassis. The chassis is mounted on a pivot shaft extending in side-to-side direction with respect to the frame so that the sanding head can be raised and lowered relative to a surface to be sanded. The pivot shaft has first and second bearing assemblies at its ends. A first side of the chassis is movable up and down relative to the first bearing assembly, and a second side of the chassis is secured against up and down movement relative to the second bearing assembly. A guide system is provided for controlling the up and down movement of the first side of the chassis relative to the first bearing assembly so that the movement is in a vertical direction. A leveling mechanism can be operated to effect vertical movement of the first side of the chassis relative to the first bearing assembly and with respect to the second side of the chassis thereby to adjust the attitude of the chassis to position the axis of rotation of the sanding head in a plane common with an axis of rotation of the wheels on the frame.
