A bicycle (10) including a novel suspension system (30) for supporting a bicycle seat (32). The suspension system (30) includes an elongate beam (34) rotatably attached at one end to the down tube (26) of the bicycle (10) and extending upwardly and rearwardly therefrom. The seat (32) is attached to the distal end of the elongate beam (34). A slider (36) is attached to the down tube (26) at a location below the attachment of the elongate beam (34) to the down tube. The slider (36) includes a sleeve (38) that extends around the elongate beam (34). A shock absorber (40) is juxtaposed between the sleeve (38) and the elongate beam (34). By pressing downward on the seat (32), elongate beam (34) and the slider (36) rotate along their respective attachments to the down tube (26) and the sleeve (38) slides along the elongate beam (34). The shock absorber (40) slows and controls this sliding motion so that a shock absorber is created for the seat (32).

Bicycle frame

A bicycle (10) with a frame (12) formed of composite material is disclosed. The frame of this bicycle includes a head section or module (34) that is attached to two body units (36, 38). The body units are formed by injection molding and include outer shells and inner ribs 200. Alternatively, the body units may be formed of a urethane core with a stiffened fiberglass, carbon fibers, or like nonmetallic skin. The head section and body units are formed with bores (78, 81, 83, 90) in which sleeves and cables are seated to accommodate the installation of the other components of the bicycle to the frame. The body is further formed with a set of rearwardly extending members that form the chain stays (22) of the bicycle. Dropouts (104) are seated in recesses formed in the chain stays. The bicycle includes a front derailleur/rear brake assembly (30) with a front derailleur (134) that can be both selectively moved up and down and selectively pivoted along a lateral axis of the bicycle. A one-piece, injection-molded frame and methods of construction are also disclosed.

Modular composite bicycle frame

A bicycle (10) with a frame (12) formed out of composite material is disclosed. The frame of this bicycle includes a head unit or module (34) that is attached to two body units (36, 38). The head unit and body unit are formed out of a urethane core and can be formed of stiffened fiberglass, carbon fibers, or like nonmetallic material. The head unit and body units are formed with bores (78, 81, 83, 90) in which sleeves and cables are seated to accommodate the installation of the other components of the bicycle to the frame. The body is further formed with a set of rearwardly extending members that form the chain stays (22) of the bicycle. Dropouts (104) are seated in recesses formed in the chain stays. The bicycle includes a front derailleur/rear brake assembly (30) with a front derailleur (134) that can be both selectively moved up and down and selectively pivoted along a lateral axis of the bicycle. By selecting an appropriately sized head unit, the frame of the bicycle can built to a specific size. Components of specific dimension can then be attached to the frame to facilitate the construction of a bicycle of this invention so that it is built for a cyclist of a specific size.

Bicycle brake and derailleur mount

A conventional J-hook is mounted to a slot board by means of an adapter having a front plate fitting against the slot board and a mounting element extending into a slot of the slot board. The J-hook has a right angle finger portion, comprising a laterally extending member which fits in an upper horizontal recess formed in the front plate and mounting portion of the adapter, and an upper finger retaining portion which extends behind the flange defining the slot. The adapter maintains the J-hook in a proper position so that it will not inadvertantly be pulled loose from the slot board by, for example, a lateral and downward force being exterted on the J-hook.

Slot board hanging apparatus and method

A container having a base containing portion and a movable cover portion is provided to contain a product for shipment or storage. The cover of the container is removed, and the base portion of the container, having two upstanding side walls, is suspended from a pegboard or slot board by providing two mounting adaptors to engage the side walls. Two mounting connectors, such as J-hooks, are used to interconnect the mounting adaptors to the pegboard or slot board, so as to mount the base portion of the container to display the product.

Container display method and apparatus

A telescoping support post having a bell member slide mounted thereon to engage a mouth of a musical instrument in a manner to support the instrument. The inner telescoping member has a releasable holding member eccentrically mounted thereon. This holding member has a resilient finger frictionally engaging the inner surface of the outer telescoping member to insure proper locking and release action. In addition, the holding member has cooperating stop means to limit rotation between these two positions. A similar device is operatably positioned between the bell member and the upper telescoping member so that the bell member can be adjusted vertically on the second telescoping member and held in any selected position.

Releasable locking assembly

A shoe merchandizing and handling apparatus is provided that in one form consists of a rotatable rack that has a plurality of supports connected thereto whereby various types of boots, shoes and the like can be suitably supported thereon. In another form, a portion of the device can be attached to a wall to provide a support for a plurality of shoes, boots or the like.
