A method of manufacturing an electronic module includes providing a conductive strip and a dielectric material. The method includes coating the dielectric material and the conductive strip to form a layered structure having a conductive layer defined by the conductive strip and a dielectric layer defined by the dielectric material. The method includes applying a carrier strip to the layered structure. The method includes processing the conductive layer to form a circuit while the layered structure is on the carrier strip. The method includes removing the carrier strip from the layered structure. The method includes applying the layered structure with the circuit to an electronic module substrate.

Methods and systems for forming electronic modules

A fiber gripper component includes a fiber receiving recess which extends from a first surface of the fiber gripper component toward a second surface of the fiber gripper component. The fiber receiving recess extends from a front face to a rear face. The fiber receiving recess has a fiber receiving surface which is positioned between the first surface and the second surface. A plurality of resilient fiber receiving grooves extend from the fiber receiving surface toward the second surface. The resilient fiber receiving grooves have a width which is less than an outer-diameter dimension of mating optical fibers to provide a press fit of the optical fibers into the resilient fiber receiving grooves. The fiber gripper component is molded with tolerances in the submicron range to maintain part functionality to allow automatable fiber assembly.

A leadframe module for an electrical connector includes a leadframe having contacts initially held together as part of the leadframe. The contacts have mating ends configured to be mated to corresponding mating contacts. The contacts having mounting ends configured to be terminated to corresponding conductors. Dielectric shells coat corresponding contacts. Outer shields are applied to corresponding dielectric shells. Each of the contacts, dielectric shells and outer shields define corresponding shielded transmission lines of the leadframe module. Optionally, a ground plate may be coupled to each of the transmission lines and electrically connected to the outer shields of the transmission lines to electrically common each of the outer shields.

A laminated electrical contact strip includes a plurality of electrical contacts. Each electrical contact includes a pair of opposite first and second surfaces extending between a pair of opposite end portions. A pair of first and second dielectric layers are laminated over the plurality of electrical contacts such that the first and second dielectric layers hold the plurality of electrical contacts therebetween. The first dielectric layer is bonded to and covers a portion of the first surface of each of the electrical contacts. The second dielectric layer is bonded to and covers a portion of the second surface of each of the electrical contacts.

An electrical connector adapter () is disclosed for electrically interconnecting a portable electronic component such as an MP3 player, CD player, or other portable device with sound or other equipment in a vehicle. The adapter () includes a one-piece insulating housing () having a system mating end () for interconnecting to a vehicle's electrical system and a component mating end () for interconnecting to a portable electrical component. Three electric contacts () are retained in three openings () respectively in the housing () and are arranged to electrically mate with a plug () of a portable electrical component.

A first contact beam and a second contact beam extend from the contact mounting edge, and the first contact beam is configured to engage the first surface of the plate when passed over the plate mounting edge. The second contact beam is configured to engage the second surface of the plate when passed over the plate mounting edge, and the first and second contact beams are laterally offset from one another along the contact mounting edge. At least one lead contact extends from the lead interface edge, and the lead contact is configured to mate with a mating connector.

An electrical contact includes a conductor comprising a series of arch-shaped elements that are formed continuous with one another and extend along a centerline. Optionally, the arch-shaped elements are pitched at an acute angle with respect to the centerline and are arranged in separate parallel planes that are also oriented at an acute angle with respect to the centerline. The arch-shaped elements includes a pair of opposed leg portions, having first ends joined to a bridge portion and having second ends spaced apart to form an opening therebetween. The leg portions of adjacent arch-shaped elements are joined to one another at linking portions. The arch-shaped elements and the centerline can be arranged in a circular geometry about a center point.

A coaxial cable connector is provided for interconnecting coaxial cables having center and outer conductors. The coaxial cable connector includes inner and outer contracts configured to be securable to inner and outer conductors of coaxial cables. A connector housing has a cavity for receiving the inner contact. The outer contacts are secured to the connector housing. A coaxial cable displacement contact section connected to the outer contacts has at least one displacement beam and braid-receiving slot dimensioned to pierce the coaxial cable automatically when the outer conductors are mounted to the coaxial cable connector. The coaxial cable displacement contact section affords an automated and reliable technique for interconnecting contacts and outer coaxial cable conductors.
