The solid hair wax product for treating or setting up a human hair-do or hair style contains at least one silicone-free wax, at least one hydrophobic oil that is liquid at 25&#xb0; C. and at least one silicone wax with a melting point in a range of from 20 to 45&#xb0; C. Preferably the silicone-free wax is a hydrocarbon wax, the hydrophobic oil is a silicone oil and the silicone wax is an alkylmethyl-dimethyl-siloxane.

The foam product for hair treatment includes a composition containing a cationic cellulose derivative, chitosan, acid for partial or complete neutralization of the chitosan and a suitable solvent. The weight ratio of the cationic cellulose derivative to the chitosan is less than 2. The composition is either provided with a propellant or is foamed with a mechanically operated foam-making device.

Aerosol foam or pump foam product for hair treatment

The wax product for treating or setting up a hairstyle or hairdo includes a composition containing at least one wax or wax-like substance, at least one non-volatile liquid hydrophobic oil and at least one volatile or easily volatilized hydrophobic substance that is a liquid or gas at room temperature. Because of the presence of the volatile substance in the composition a soft wax easily worked in the hair is obtained when the composition is applied to the hair. This soft wax hardens on the hair when the volatile ingredients evaporate. When the composition includes a propellant gas a wax with a larger surface area (wax snow) is produced, which is likewise easily worked into the hair and very effectively fixes or sets the hair.

Hair wax products containing waxes, non-volatile oils and volatile hydrophobic materials

A cosmetic preparation in gel form is described which contains undissolved, water-swollen polymer particles and at the interface with gaseous substances forms reversibly a grainy, uneven, light-scattering surface and at the interface with solids forms reversibly a smooth, level, non-light-scattering surface. Preferred gel formers are superabsorbing polymers. A preferred use is the hair-end protection in permanent wave treatment.

Cosmetic preparation in gel form

The preferably optically clear, transparent or translucent micromulsion contains from 20 to 60 percent by weight water; from 3 to 20 percent by weight of an oil phase, which contains hydrophobic oil that is liquid at 25&#xb0; C. and optionally dissolved lipophilic materials, and from 20 to 60 percent by weight of an emulsifier mixture. The emulsifier mixture contains at least one first emulsifier, which is an ethoxylated castor oil and/or an ethoxylated hydrogenated castor oil, and at least one second emulsifier with an NRUvalue greater than 110 &#x3bc;g/ml. The microemulsion is usable as a cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical preparation, especially as an agent for hair treatment.

Microemulsions, especially for skin or hair treatment

The hair wax product for treating or setting up a human hairstyle has a composition containing more than 20% by weight of one or more waxy polyethylene glycol, which is solid at at 25&#xb0; C., and at least one additive substance that prevents crystallization of the waxy solid polyethylene glycol. This additive substance preferably is a hydrophobic wax, a hydrophobic soft waxy material or hydrophobic oil and is contained in the product in an amount of more than 5% by weight. Preferred embodiments of the waxy product can contain an emulsifier and/or an additional polyethylene glycol, which is liquid at 25&#xb0; C.

The hair styling stick contains from 30 to 55 percent by weight of one or more polyethylene glycols with a molecular weight of from 2500 to 5000 g/mol; and from 40 to 70 percent by weight of at least one other polyethylene glycol with a molecular weight of from 570 to 800 g/mol together with cosmetic ingredients. In preferred embodiments the hair styling stick contains from 30 to 55 percent by weight of one or more polyethylene glycols with a molecular weight of from 2500 to 5000 g/mol; from 15 to 35 percent by weight of one or more polyethylene glycols with a molecular weight of from 850 to 1600 g/mol, from 15 to 35 percent by weight of one or more liquid polyethylene glycols with a molecular weight of from 570 to 800 g/mol and additional cosmetic ingredients, as needed. The additional cosmetic ingredients can include an aqueous or organic solvent, emulsifier, perfume or fragrance, dye, preservative and/or pearlescence-imparting agent.

The wax composition for styling human hair provides hold, strength and rigidity, includes at least one wax and/or waxy material, and has a density of less than or equal to 0.9 g/ml, after being foamed in a fluid or softened state with a gas, preferably air or a non-reactive gas, such as nitrogen, so that it includes a bubble and/or pore structure. In the method for styling human hair this wax composition is applied to the hair and the hair is shaped with the wax composition applied to it.

Cosmetic agent in the form of a gel

A hair wax product is made by a process, in which a solid wax composition is heated to melt or soften it and then foamed with a gas in a mixer that applies shear energy to it. The gas is preferably air or a non-reactive gas, such as nitrogen. The gas is introduced to the liquified or softened solid wax composition in a sufficient amount so that the density of the resulting hair wax product is less than or equal to 0.9 g/ml, preferably 0.6 to 0.8 g/ml. The hair wax product contains bubbles and/or pores having a size of from 0.0001 to 5 mm and has melting and softening properties such that rubbing it by hand is sufficient to remove a waxy portion from it and work the waxy portion into hair.

The aqueous hair fixing gel has special rheological properties so that it can be dispensed from a container without dripping or becoming stringy. It contains from 1.5 to 10 percent by weight of at least one itaconic acid monoester/acrylate copolymer and from 0.1 to 15 percent by weight of at least one non-ionic, anionic, zwitterionic or amphoteric hair-fixing polymer. The itaconic acid monoester has a formula CH &boxH;C(COOR )CH COOR , wherein one of R and R represents hydrogen and the other represents &mdash;(CH CH O) &mdash;R , x is between 1 to 100 and R is an alkyl group having 8 to 30 carbon atoms. The aqueous hair treatment gel has a pH of greater than 7 and a viscosity of preferably from 2000 to 50,000 mPa.s, as measured at 25&deg; C. The gel is formulated so that there is a gel viscosity maximum as a function of shear rate with increasing shear rate, preferably between 0.1 to 5.0 s .

Hair treatment gels containing itaconic acid monoester/acrylate copolymer

The hair treatment compositions for imparting volume to hair each contain from 0.1 to 20 percent by weight of one or more terpolymers of vinyl pyrrolidone, vinyl caprolactam and a basic acryl amide monomer and from 0.05 to 10 percent by weight of one or more cation-active hair-care substance. The composition provides a long-lasting volumizing effect to hair treated with it. It is especially effective on damaged hair and provides good combability without loading the hair.

Volume-imparting hair treatment compositions

The hair treatment composition has the Theological properties of an oil but contains non-hydrophobic ingredients. It includes at least one fatty acid glyceride polyalkylene glycol ether or at least one fatty acid partial glyceride polyalkylene glycol ether with at least 30 alkylene glycol units respectively; at least one surfactant different from the at least one fatty acid glyceride polyalkylene glycol ether and the at least one fatty acid partial glyceride polyalkylene glycol ether with at least 30 alkylene glycol units and at least one thickener. The hair treatment composition is dfree of ingredients that cause foaming of the composition prior to or during application to hair. It provides hair to which it is applied with improved hair shaping, long-lasting luster and soft feel. It behaves like an oil, without having an oil in the classical sense as its principal ingredient.

Hair styling oil

The pigment-containing foamable gel for temporarily coloring the hair contains from 35 to 98 percent by weight water; one or more gel-forming thickener that imparts a yield point to the composition; at least one pigment; at least one film-forming, hair-fixing polymer; at least one foam-producing surfactant and at least one propellant, in combination with a suitable aerosol package and a foam-forming device for foaming the gel. The concentration of the thickener or thickeners in the gel is selected so that, on the one hand, the viscosity of the gel is sufficiently reduced so that foaming of the gel is possible and, on the other hand, the yield point is at least large enough so that settling of the pigment is prevented. The easily foamable composition has a hair-fixing effect and temporarily colors the hair, providing a high color brilliance and lustrous appearance. The composition is washable from the hair at will and the color of the hair provided by it has good fastness to rubbing.
