Example DC-DC power distribution systems include electronic communication device(s), a circuit breaker DIN rail adapted to receive a circuit breaker for providing electrical protection to the one or more electronic communication devices, and a DC-DC converter including a housing having a DIN rail mount, a voltage input and a voltage output. The DC-DC converter includes a DC-DC voltage converter circuit coupled between the voltage input and the voltage output, and a controller electrically coupled with the DC-DC voltage converter circuit. The DC-DC converter is mounted on the circuit breaker DIN rail via the DIN rail mount of the DC-DC converter housing, and the controller is configured to control the DC-DC voltage converter circuit to convert a DC voltage at the voltage input to a different DC voltage at the voltage output to supply power to the one or more electronic communication devices.

DC-DC converters having DIN rail mounts

An electrical power supply includes a power circuit for providing power to a load via a conductor, and a control circuit. The control circuit is configured to set an output voltage of the power circuit at different values to cause the load voltage at the load to change, sense an output current of the power circuit corresponding to each different value of the output voltage, determine an electrical resistance of the conductor based on the different output voltage values and their corresponding output current values, and set the output voltage of the power circuit at a defined value based on the determined resistance to compensate for a voltage drop of the conductor when the power circuit provides power to the load and to regulate the load voltage at the load at a desired value. Other example power supplies, control circuits and/or methods of regulating load voltages are also disclosed.

Example DC-DC converters include a housing having at least two bullet terminals. The at least two bullet terminals are configured to mate with corresponding terminals in a DC bullet breaker panel. The converter also includes a DC-DC voltage converter circuit coupled between the at least two bullet terminals, and a controller coupled with the DC-DC voltage converter circuit. The controller is configured to control the DC-DC converter circuit to convert a DC input voltage at a first one of the at least two bullet terminals to a different DC output voltage at another one of the at least two bullet terminals. Methods of converting DC voltages using DC-DC converters having bullet terminals are also disclosed.

A battery backup unit (BBU) for supplying backup power to a load includes at least one battery, an output terminal for coupling to a load, a power converter having an input coupled to the at least one battery and an output coupled to the output terminal, and a bypass circuit having an input coupled to the at least one battery and an output coupled to the output terminal. The power converter is configured to regulate a voltage at the output terminal after startup of the power converter. The bypass circuit is configured to regulate the voltage at the output terminal during startup of the power converter. Other example systems including one or more BBUs are also disclosed.

Battery backup units and systems including bypassing circuitry for regulating outputs

A system includes a first power converter, a second power converter, a first battery having a time to end of discharge (EOD) and coupled to output a current to the first converter, a second battery having a time to EOD and coupled to output a current to the second converter, and a control circuit coupled to the first converter and the second converter. The control circuit is configured to monitor the times to EOD of the first battery and the second battery, and in response to the times to EOD of the first battery and the second battery not being substantially equal, control the first converter to adjust the current drawn from the first battery to change a rate of decrease of the time to EOD of the first battery. Other example systems and methods for substantially matching a time to EOD of a plurality of batteries are also disclosed.
